Early childhood experiences left me yearning to understand more about the "other side". I began to read every book and magazine, that I could get my hands on, that pertained to ghosts and hauntings. Over the years I've read hundreds and I thought I knew just about everything there was to know about ghost hunting. Then I picked up The Field Guide to North American Hauntings by W. Haden Blackman and found out just how little I did know. This book is a wonderful intro to researching and understanding the afterlife. It takes you on a in depth study of ghosts, hauntings and how to document and research the subject. I'm still looking for answers, but now I have the knowledge and insight to truly appreciate the inner workings of a true haunting. So...if you're ready to explore this subject with an open mind and healthy skepticism this is the book that will get you started.
