Movie Description
Adolf Dresen directs this production of Beethoven's only full-length opera, live from the Covent Garden with the Royal Opera House Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Christoph Von Dohnanyi. With a plot akin to a great Shakespeare lover's comedy, FIDELIO includes elements of cross-dressing, love triangles, and betrayal. Through it all though, an undercurrent of the fight for freedom and liberation gives the opera a resounding dramatic power.
