La Femme Nikita - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2003, Six Disc Set)

What I love about this show is that it is totally over the top but in a non-gendered way: it's not really a chick show and it's not hyper-masculine.
Also, it's politically potent today. With everything that is going on in the world with Iraq and international terrorism, the show is probably more accurate in terms of spies and counter-terrorist plots than it was when the show first came out. Who heard of Hezbollah in 1996? Now it's commonplace.
Also, the "technology" still stands up- the gel screens and gadgetry haven't changed too much from what's on TV today.
Anyways, this show is pure escapism, will fulfill any chicks desire for sexual tension (over 5 seasons!), and is other-worldy. Though it was created for American television, all of the characters have accents, the fashion is more European than Hollywood, and the music is non-mainstream. If you enjoy good action and a constructed world all it's own, this show will make you happy.

This series is well acted, full of excitement and intrigue. The sexual tension between Nikita and Michael is always smoldering just below the surface. On the rare instances that 'things' happen, you're later left wondering whether it was just part of the game that Nikita has to live within.

I highly recommend this series!

This show has got it all: the Love/Hate relationship, the beautiful main character, the intriguing plot lines, the action and suspense....I could go on and on, but I won't just watch it for yourself to see what I'm talking about. After this one your going to have to watch the second season then the third...ect.

I purchased La Femme Nikita { Season One} because I've always been a big fan of the show { i was upset at it's cancellation, lol} and I'd been meaning to buy the dvds, season by season, for a couple of years, but didn't because everywhere i found that had the dvds, the price, I believed , was too high...I waited, hoping the price would come down { no reflection on the show}. when I couldn't wait any longer, i'd browse eBay, finding better pricing, then finding a price that was a steal, couldn't pass it up.
The show is very entertaining. I get into each and every character { almost to the point where I'm also a member of "The Section"}. The quality of the dvds is great, plus there are the behind the scenes info, which go in depth about the show and it's making.
I"ve done a fair amount of shopping on eBay...because I've usually found what I've wanted at a better price, at store quality....this is dvd set is another example.

I was really hooked on this show when it came out. The actors were excellent and the storyline for the whole season would just pull me in. All & all it was one of my favorite tv shows. My goal is to eventually get the whole set.

I'm 39yo female and prior to Nikita, Roseanne was my fav tv show. I love La Femme Nikita because it is everything you could want in a show, and some you didn't know you wanted, all rolled into one. We're talkin action, drama, comedy, espionage, mystery, romance, all wrapped within a musical sound that is simply unique to Nikita. From episode one, Nikita draws you into it's intrigue and intensity. I purchased the dvd set because it is my alltime favorite show and I love to watch the entire series over and over again. Give Nikita a try...you will become instantly fascinated with the storylines, the fantastic cast, and you may find yourself buying season 2,3,4 and 5( well, 4 and 5 aren't out yet but I'm patiently waiting:) Anyway, hope my review helped ya and I hope you'll love Nikita (and Michael) as much as I do.

I purchased this dvd with plans to show my sister what my mother and I were so obsessed with years ago when this series was on USA. Thanks to eBay I was able to experience the show once again with her. I plan to purchase more seasons of Nikita in the near future. Thanks.

Although there are a lot of far fetched techno capabilities in Section One, we love this series. Amazing that in 1997 they were protraying international terrorism as a threat. The series was spot on. The characters are perfectly cast, and the acting is first rate. My wife wants to be re-incarnated a Nakita. Her conscious is a little overdone, considering the mission of taking out stone cold killers. We missed the first season so we were happy to see the beginning. This series I thnik is better than 24 because you have several leading characters, and the plots are more international.

The DVD was mailed in very good condition and fast service!!! The DVD played perfectly. It was well worth the buy.

I love this tv show that ran on USA Network. I was an avid fan and wanted to add this series to my collection. The show keeps you guessing what may or may not happen. I recommend this show to anyone who likes crime drama or secret societies.

What a great show, from the cast, the writing & the all over feel. Peta showed a wonderful range. And, you really felt what Nikita was suppose to be feeling. Roy was great as stoic, seemingly unfeeling Michael. Birkoff & Walter added the needed comic relief. One of the few really great shows ever made.

Present for my wife, she already watched the whole set, now i have to find seasons 2 and 3.

Decided to buy because I was a vigilant watcher of the series when it origionally aired. Liked it and the complex twists and turns. nicely put together set. You wont be disappointed !

You never knew what was going to happen next. Full of adventure. My husband likes the series. Can't wait to see the other series.

The set arrived very promptly and in great condition. I don't think we've had even one skip with this set which is pretty impressive for any previously owned DVD. I was completely satisfied with this purchase!
