Album Notes Audio Mixer: Luke Wooten. Audio Remasterer: Hank Williams. Recording information: Ocean Way, Nashville TN. Five studio albums into his career, Dierks Bentley has carved a successful niche for himself on the Nashville scene, and FEEL THAT FIRE continues to exploit his strengths. Soulful and real enough to stand out from the cookie-cutter Nashville hordes, Bentley takes cues from the outlaw country generation of Waylon Jennings and Wilie Nelson while remaining catchy and commercial enough to be a regular feature on contemporary country radio. The title track and first single is a particular standout, as is the sultry "I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes" and a tender duet with Patty Griffin, "Beautiful World."
Editorial Reviews Credit Bentley's broad, crackly baritone, a voice that can do sentimental -- as on richly arranged mash note 'You Hold Me Together' -- without losing an ounce of its outlaw energy. -- Grade: A- Entertainment Weekly
FEEL THAT FIRE effortlessly runs the gamut from classic country to twang to rock and pop....As usual, Bentley co-wrote every song, and Patty Griffin joins him for a charming duet... Paste
'I Can't Forget Her,' with its decidedly Southwestern feel and fine storytelling, would make Marty Robbins proud. Billboard
