Album Notes
Slaughter: Mark Slaughter (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Tim Kelly (guitar, background vocals); Dana Strum (bass, background vocals); Blas Elias (drums, percussion, background vocals).
Recorded at Slaughter House, Las Vegas, Nevada.
After Slaughter's sophomore effort, 1992's THE WILD LIFE, failed to live up to its high expectations, the band regrouped and rethought its direction. With glam- and pop-metal mortally unfashionable by the mid-'90s, replaced by angst-ridden alt-rock at the top of the U.S. charts, Slaughter stripped down its sound and look, releasing its third studio album, FEAR NO EVIL, in 1995.
The quartet could still easily pen an arena rock anthem (although its arena days were long gone), as evidenced by such selections as "Unknown Destination," "Live Like There's No Tomorrow," and "Outta My Head." Also included is the obligatory power ballad ("Breakdown N' Cry"), as well as the Beatles-esque pop of "It'll Be Alright."
