Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly (PlayStation 2, 2003)

If you like survival horrors, this gives a whole new meaning to freaky. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one too. Great story with real life ghost incidents changed for game play. Even if you were not fortunate enough to get the first one, you should get this one. Imagine a spooky environment drawn to erie detail, sounds that chills you to the bone, and vibration from the controller. It'll have you spooked in no time.

I own all of the Fatal Frame games and this is my favorite of the 3! The story line in all of them just totally rocks, but this one is so twisted that it makes it that much better.

You play as Mio and Mayu, twin sisters that find "The Lost Village". They are stuck there with all of these creepy ghosts popping out around every corner.

It scared the total crap out of me the first time I played it, but it was totally worth it. You can play in different difficulty settings, giving different endings. I loved this game and have played it over and over and would HIGHLY recommend this for anyone that likes horror games!

I gave this game a perfect 5/5 for several reasons. The story line is absolutely brilliant. It had me on edge the entire time, I couldn't take myself away from the game! It keeps you interested by hinting at a long and distorted storyline which is very involved at some points! There are also various math involve dpuzzles throughout the game that put your brain to work. (or your common sense skills at least haha go figure)

As far as graphics go, meh. You tend not to mind the graphics all to much when you're facing a frightening ghost of which you're constantly worried about where it's going to be next and getting that good shot in! I was so worried about the game itself and my camera I didn't even pa attention to soe of the graphical flaws, such as the semi poorly done 3D and etc. I stil lwould say the graphics are fine, but the action will keep your mind off of how bad they CAN be in some parts. The cutscenes are also a lovely example of nice graphics for the game, so they keep your mind off of the ingame graphics moreso.


So yeah, if you dont have this game, rent it or buy it, for it is definitely worth a play or six. :D

My boyfriend and I played this when I went to see him over Christmas. I had never heard of any of these Fatal Frame games and usually I can take horror pretty well. This game was the first one I've played. It scared the living hell out of me. I was clinging to my boyfriend and I was so scared because the ghosts would just pop up. It's definitely terrifying and the story line is incredible. I'd play this game myself but I'm too much of a wuss! I highly recommend this game... it's amazing!

I never thought that a video game would scare me, but this one did. There were scenes in there that made the hairs on the back of neck stand up and others that made me jump out of my seat. The controller vibration adds a TON to the spookiness. As far as gameplay goes though, it wasn't really that great, but the scarey graphics, sounds and controller vibration more than make up for it. I had to get a walkthrough for it just so I could get to the end... a lot of puzzle solving, which is not my cup of tea.

I love this game, great game, fast shipping, but seller doesn't like to leave feedback, I left feedback the same day i got the game, but it has been like 3 months and he won't do the same!

This game is so scary that i soiled me britches. Who'd a thunk a thing like that could a skert me so badly? I do now - 'specially after such a frightening game was let into me shed by me. Beware. And beware of soiled britches

I LOVE this game, it is everything it said it was and more. I played the previous Fatal Frame and loved it as well and was excited to find this one on the top ten scariest games list. Anyone who likes a good creepy atmosphere and high tension will love this game, you never know when you're going to run into something and the effects and music only add to the sense of being watched. I would suggest this game for anyone looking for a scare.

This is a great game and I highly recommend it. I heard good things about it, and I can tell you, everything good said about it was true. It's a well made, creepy game.

Fatal Frame 2 takes you on an advanture nothing like your ordinary fantasy video games. I would rate this game the ONLY "real" horror game. I started playing the game for only 30minutes and felt like I just watch a Japanese Horror movie. It sure is the scariest game made, i"d say. For those 30min of game play I did, I felt the same throught out all those times. I mean, there's not a part of the game will I will feel safe like, ok this part is less scarier. Its heart pounding and you'll never know whats gonna come out at each cornor. Better then Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

If you're a Horror game lover, Fatal Frame is the game for you. Dont forget there's Fatal Frame 1, 2, & 3.

Crimson Butterfly is probably the best in the Fatal Frame series. A true survival horror game with suspense, problem solving, great story and that all important scare factor. It is a keepsake for survival horror gamers.

Good enough to play, the disc is a little scratch but does not effect the game play. The game cover is in good shape and does not have any ripping or smudges. Overall, it was a good buy and great game.

I am collecting video games that are hard to find and wanted this one. I get my friends to play it when they come over because i get jumpy when i play it and i love the stories it is like watching a scary movie that changes i have the first one as well but this one was half as expensive and had the manual way better buy

this is truely a horror game that anyone who likes horror should own. while it doesn't look like it would scare ya, when you play in the dark, it's a totally different story. i diffenately recommend buying this.

It's not all just hype, this is an amazing game. If you can get your hand on a copy, go for it. Even though i payed $4o for it i'd pay $8o, that's just how good it is.

The game is a horror game that I just am in love with. It was for a gift for a friend and when I tested it out to see if it works I fell in love with it and couldn't stop playing!! AWESOME GAME!!!

I played the first Fatal Frame, and thought it was great but not quite as scary as Silent Hill....maybe not so with part 2. This time the game though very similar to the first one in storyline, is downright creepy!! Very creepy!! The sounds are better, the scare tactics are well designed truly a skin crawling masterpiece!! If you played the first one and liked it, you'll love this one! Even if you didn't play the first one pick it up! That is if you have the guts! Play alone with the light out for REAL thrills!

This game is a good mix of scares and storyline, but isn't as disturbing as say, Silent Hill or Bioshock. People who enjoy games like Resident Evil, Haunting Ground, or other tamer survival-horror games would enjoy this and it's unique game play abilities. Any fans of Japanese folklore/horror would enjoy it as well.

I love it, it's a very nice game. I like its Japanese vision, I used have one from Japan. So I decide to get a English one.

I got this for my sister, who loves horror games and had wanted to try this one out for a while. Trouble is, it's kind of expensive. So I found it cheap on Ebay, and my sister loved the game! Turns out, it would have been worth it even buying it new (but I'm still glad I saved money!). The graphics are great, the gameplay is amazing and detailed, and the music is both well-done and incredibly scary. I would definitly recommend this for anyone who enjoys horror games.
