Synopsis In this third legal thriller by William Lashner, a murdered woman's past ties together a lawyer and his client in ways not immediately apparent. Victor Carl agrees to serve as defense lawyer for his friend Guy, even though the circumstances strongly suggest that Guy did indeed murder his lover, Hailey Prouix.
