Quilting has now become a past time for Americans and not just women but men. We all need a way to wind down and quilting is one of those ways.
This book qives you ideas and patterns for using the new craze of Fat Quarters. A FQ (Fat Quarter) is a 100% cotton piece of fabric that is 18 inch x 22 inch. By using a variety of FQ's you can have a colorful quilt without purchasing large quanties of fabric.
The book Fat Quarter Friendly is 144 pages of beautiful photos, clear instructions and patterns. There is a section in the back that describes tools needed, applique, templates, joining blocks, mitered corners, backing, machine and hand quilting plus more. The book is from Fons and Porter's which also publish a quilting magazine.
I think this is a good book for a beginning or advanced quilter.

The books came in good time but were definitely more "used" than explained. The covers were dirty and one reeked of cigarette smoke.

Basic quilt patterns - decided to buy it because they use fat quarters for the quilts. Also bought it because it was a better price on e-bay vs. purchasing in store. I don't care if the book is used.
