Fascinating Womanhood by Helen B. Andelin (1992, Paperback, Updated)

I am a Christian and so my views are a little different than others. I used to be the domineering, make more money than my husband type person. I have took the biblical views that this book suggest and have applied them after 25 years of marriage wow my I a a better woman and my husband is a fascinating husband.. I wished I had this book 25 years ago. I love being a woman.

This book is rather old-fashioned in a lot of it's ideas, but it has tons of tips for women to use to get their husbands to fall in love with them again. I have personally tried several, and they work! This book is a must for any woman who wants to put the zing back in her marriage.

I have not yet finished this book, but so far I have found the advice spot-on. She has a lot of insights especially into the MALE character, but through this you can really see what a woman's role should be (she has an important role in her own right, not just AS a man's support and helpmate, but this is a lot of what her duty is). The only caveat is that you really have to listen to her advice to accept and love yourself first, before you try putting a lot of this stuff into practice. Remember, you are a fine, wonderful, loved woman, and this gives you the power to help not only your man but many other people around you.

My sister-in-law suggested this book because some of the women at her church had been reading it and found it very helpful. I am still reading it now and am loving it. It is so basic - let's get back to the true and natural roles of husband and wife. We women today need to finally realize how to really take care of our husbands and meet their needs.... and then in turn ... ours will be met. It is our duty as wives to serve him and put him first. I personally want to be a June Cleaver. I highly suggest this book to any woman who is struggling in her marriage and doesn't feel like her needs are being met.

A dear lady friend gave me this book last summer. I accepted her copy with a mixed feeling of skepticism and intrigue, but once I opened up the book and began to read, I couldn't put it down! Mrs. Andelin is well-read and very skillful at sharing her knowledge with others. The teachings of Fascinating Womanhood may seem "old fashioned" to some, but they are in fact timeless truths. Fascinating Womanhood transcends the barriers of time, nationality, and religion (although it is based upon Christianity).

Since first coming into contact with “Fascinating Womanhood,” I have become a new woman! One who’s more confident in myself, fulfilled, and radiating with happiness! I have also gone from being single to (soon after reading the book), engaged, and am now a blushing bride of 3 months! Ladies: Fascinating Womanhood works! This book has changed my life, and it will change yours, too, if only you are willing to try. If you were to read this book, and put its tenants into practice, I guarantee that you will reap the benefits and joys your heart desires.

I couldn’t recommend Mrs. Andelin’s Masterpiece more!

Great guide on how to relate to & communicate with men. In this modern womanist world we have lost touch with our feminine side & how to relate to men. I'm only 20 & not super conservative but this book has really spoken to me & made me understand why So Many marriages are unhappy or ending in divorce. A great read if you want to avoid bitterness and separation in your relationship!

This book is a great blueprint to a happy marriage. The author clearly understands male psychology and what men need from a wife. Yes, she contradicts a lot of "modern" feminist theory, but then again, has feminist theory created happier marriages? This book teaches how much power women have--the happiness of a marriage is in their hands and the author teaches how to create a beautiful home environment.

My girls were "fascinated" by this book from cover to cover. Different from the world's example of finding a mate, this book sheds light on many aspects of the young lady, preparing for marriage. Not all ideas agree with everyone I would imagine, however, it offered many insights to the differences between men and women. Not much reference to Scripture, but wise advice given. More young ladies should read this before marriage to help their relationship.

A religious diatribe to demean women.

My mother and I have gone through multiple copies of this book--because you ca open it up to any given page and find absolutely asinine statements. And we use it as a source of entertainment. It's always fun to laugh at stupidity.

This book was written by members of the LDS--Mormons--and if this is how they think women should behave... *sighs* (Note: I know this isn't what Mormons believe--but this is the image they are putting out by endorsing this book)

The things they suggest are stamping your foot and shaking your curls when you're angry at your husband. Know that he's always right. Tell him what wonderful qualities he has, and if he doesn't have any, MAKE THEM UP!!

Yes, this book will save your marriage. If you are willing to be completely subservient, bending to your husband's every whim, then by all means, spend your money and take this book seriously.

Me? I'm going to keep reading this book whenever I need a good laugh. In fact, it's really popular with women I know who have escaped abusive relationships, because it reminds them of how niave and stupid they were. Sort of a auto-shaudenfraude. That's how my mother has lost all her past copies--she's given them away to people who find it as idiotic as we do.

Note: I bought this book on ebay because I would never buy a new issue of it. Ever.

I love this book!!!! This book was first introduced to me by a dear friend of mines and I just couldn't put the book down. I needed a copy for myself, that's how awesome it is. Yes, it's old but it's soooo true. This way of life should of never changed. I am a 27 year old in the 2000's and I can see how bad women have strayed from their calling. This book brings out the very best in a woman. It actually points out how much women have taken over the world.

This book brings back the way it always should of been. If women want their marriage to work out then they should read this. Women need to realize that they have gone astray from God's original plan for them. This book helps bring back the realization of what should be in a marriage and what should be in a woman. They will learn how to treat their husbands with respect and to accept them as they are. They will learn how a woman should dress, yes that means no pants. They will learn how to act as a woman. They will learn the basics once again!!!!

What men long for in a wife???? That's the name of this book. I have changed drastically from reading this book.... not only in my marriage but in the way that I am a woman. Even in the 2000's, I am trying to bring back God's original plan for his women!!!!

While this book may have its enemies due to "dated" view of a woman's role in the home, it's values ring true. The teachings, biblically based, when put to use sincerely, work wonders in a marriage. While at first it may humble the wife, in the end it really works reverse-psychology on the husband.

As a christian, I took use of these biblical views to try to bring my dull marriage back to life. I used to do many things without thinking of how it affected my husband, and our love was slowly growing cold. Once I read this book I realized marriage asks more than my convenience. Now I understand what it really means to be loved by my man. He has shown me more affection, dedication, and complete commitment than when we were first married. I've seen him become the man I had always dreamed of once I started treating him that way. He was like a diamond in the rough, all I needed to do was polish...

It is a suggested read, if not to follow completely, then to at least get a deeper examination of the needs of a man in marriage, and experiment for yourself. You will find that there is great character in the man you've married, you just need to coax him out.

This book is great to give any oung woman -just getting married or haveing trouble in a relationship. If one one will just try or act out the assignments given. I have given several away to young ladies, and hope to keep it up. Thanks
