Intended to be Love Battery's shot at the alt-rock big leagues, 1993's FAR GONE found the Seattle-based band aiming for a more straight-ahead sound. Naturally, however, the group's odd, neo-psychedelic flourishes still seep through, turning even the most rocked-out tunes into slightly lopsided songs (see "Split in Two") that doomed the ensemble to cult status.
