This is the first novel in a series called FIRSTBORN. Fame is where it all starts. I actually read "Forgiven" first and had to go back to read the first one! Kingsbury is a spectacular Christian romance novelist.

The most refreshing thing I can say about this engaging story is that it is clean! It's about time I pick up a good romance that doesn't have illicit sexual affairs in it. The lead male acts with honor, and the lead female is respectful. What a refreshing change!

I highly recommend this book to all the adult gals out there from 18 to 100! It's worth your time. I find that I can't wait to read the next one when I finish each one.

The Fame story has a beautiful conflict about the lead female who is a Christian and talented actress. She has to choose between trusting God that she is right where she belongs and being tempted away by fame and fortune--and of course, a handsome guy (who by the way is NOT a believer, yet)!

It's a classic struggle, and well written. The web of community relationships that she defines from the onset is intricate and so believable, you'll think it's your own hometown. Just like you are there...

Kingsbury does something astonishing that would deserve a 10 rating if there were such a thing. She outlines the moral conflicts at the end of the book and asks her readers questions about why they think the characters did and said what they said and what would you (the reader) would do in a similar situation. Like a game of Christian Scruples--this is fantastic. Kudos to Kingsbury! Excellent penmanship! Go out and GET THIS BOOK!

In a continuation from her "Redemption" series, Karen Kingsbury continues to write about the Baxter family and their extended lives. The Redemption series was 'delicious' - I ate them up. "Fame" was worth waiting for and gave us a look into what happens when a small-town girl ends up in Hollywood. Great characters - great heart - with Truth woven throughout.

I have read the Redemption Series by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley. They are excellent books. Reading about the Baxter family is continued in this wonderful series Firstborn. These books are very realistic and very spiritual. I would recommend these books to anyone.

This one along with all of Karen Kingsbury books were fantastic. My daughter got me into reading after my traumatic brain injury and she started me with A Thousand Tomorrows. I have read all those Karen has out at present and because of my injury am reading them again with not much recollection from the first time. The book Beyond Tuesday morning had a character as I am now and made me feel less the ALIEN. My doctors say to read to get brain to work properly again and this I do faithfully. Hope she continues the good work--her reading is easy to stay with and very inspirational.

  Kingsbury at her best!

Karen Kingbury has done it yet again. In this first book of the series, we get to know the Baxter's firstborn, Dayne. Already caught up in the HOllywood lifestlye, but still longing for a sense of family, he is smitten by Katy, an innocent Christian woman who is also from his biological family's hometown. I loved how Kingsbury weaves in and out of the lives of the BAxter family throughout this book. It allows those of us who fell in love with the Baxter's from her other series, to still "keep in touch" with what is going on for them. All the while, learning more about the Baxter Kids' sibling that they don't yet even know exists. Getting a peek into what life may be like for Hollywood's Famed actors and actresses is interesting. I love Katy's character and can't wait to see what lies ahead for her and hopefully Dayne. More importantly, I am anxious for the Baxters to learn about him as well. I just finished this book and continue to love the way Kingsbury can draw you into a story and continue to edify Christ throughout. There are sooo many ways that readers identify with the characters and that is what will forever keep them coming back!

Received “fame” by Karen kingsbury yesterday and I*m half way threw it already! Her books are so wonderful they are hard to put down! I normally am not the person who likes to read but I love Karens books. The first book I found of hers was a book on 911. After that I have been hooked on her books! They have Christian Faith Background and he books makes you feel like you really know the people in her stories! I recommend her books to everyone I know!
