Movie Description
Existing in shifting configurations over the course of 25-plus years, The Fall is anchored by frontman Mark E. Smith, who has maintained an unflagging output of vanguard music throughout the years. With growled, ironic lyrics and a cacophonous post-punk sound, the Fall have been a cult favorite since the 1970s, and have never sold out their political or artistic beliefs. All of this is in evidence during both of the live concerts comprising this release. A 2001 performance at New York's Knitting Factory sees Mark playing while seated behind a desk, as he resolutely performs despite a broken leg, while the 2002 apearance features the band headlining Britain's premiere music festival, All Tomorrow's Parties. The footage comes directly from the band's own archive, with Smith overseeing the editing of both shows. The song list includes "The Joke," "And Therein," and "Bourgeois Town," among many others.
