I bought this book for my niece because she loves fairies. I paged through the book before I gave it to her and it was beautiful. The drawings, writing, pictures, etc. The whole concept of the book is fun and engaging. Some of the pages and little envelopes to pull out small items, flaps to look under, etc. Some of the writing is in cursive, so it may be difficult for young readers. It is a wonderful book to share and read together. I was very impressed.

I have always loved Cicely Mary Barker's drawings and paintings of flower fairies, and have collected several of her books. This book is exquisite because it not only has a real journal, written by Miss Barker, but it has many, many attachments which make it seem one-of-a-kind. There are postcards and letters, pretty maps, envelopes to open, with secret treasures. The pages are of very heavy paper, almost like cardboard, and even little story books are pasted inside.
The illustrations are fantastic! There are many paintings of the various flower fairies. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a TREASURE.

This book on fairy sightings is beautifully drawn by a very talented Cicely Mary Barker. How delightful that Cicely lets her imagination flow freely to create this book for all to experience. The book is rich in color, superbly made, of high quality, and will withstand a lot of use. The book is exquisite and the story is pure delight.

This book is fantastic! I had seen it in book stores but the price kept me from buying it...finding it here was a dream come true! For those who like to read a journal or diary..grab this book.....it's filled with things that one would find in a journal......photos..memorable trinkets...and lots of wonderful tidbits on faery lore. Whether you believe in the wee ones or not doesn't matter...after reading this book you may find yourself wondering and wanting to know more!

) Okay this is a beautiful book and put together great but and a big BUT...It is written in cursive which is great for adults or teens but not for six year olds which is the books target audience. What's not explained is that the book is put together like a personal journal/scrapbook of cicley barker's summer vacation where she searches out fairies. I loved it but i'm afraid my daughter who is turning six and can read great by the way, will be disappointed that she can't read cursive.

I ordered the book for my 6 year old granddaughter. She told me all about the book before we ordered it, because a friend of hers had it. She called me every day to see if it had been delivered. When it was delivered a week later, she came over had was delighted with it. She has been carrying it with her everywhere, and she's learning to read cursive, which is a little harder. She just loves it.

My grandkids are into fairies. This was a great book to read to them. It’s done in a journal format – which is neat, with scrapbook type attachments. It’s written as a “Fairy Believer” – desperately trying for a “Sighting”. It is very cute! My only complaint is that the cursive writing was hard to read at times.

ReliableI wanted to give this book as a gift and was able to do so. I had had a previous experience with an eBay seller of the same item that arrived very damaged as did the second book they sent. It also had similar damage. I was very pleased that I purchased from wesell as I could give the book as the gift I wanted to give.

This was a horrible experience. My 7 year-old daughter bought this item, as the seller had listed it as "brand-new". When it arrived, it was marked as a remainder. When I pointed this out, the seller called me a liar and refused a refund. She told me where she had bought the book, and I discovered it was a bargain book, and that the original seller clearly stated that their bargain books were blemished and marked as remainders. The seller continued to abuse me and accuse me of lying, and it took the intervention of Paypal to receive a refund.

My daughter and I saw this very beautiful book at the bookstore the day before I won it on eBay. It is very well illustrated, full of fantasy details, pop-up pages and "secret" finds. She [and I] fell in love with it. It was a bit pricy and I decided to wait to buy, but when I saw the deal that I could get on here, I just had to jump on it. I received it so quickly, it was packaged so well and the service could not have been better.

I love this book all the little hidden places to discover. I gave it to my nieces as a gift. I am think they will love it for years to come. I had check one out from the library and decide I had to get them for the kids in the family. Everyone loves a treasure hunt and there is one at every turn of a page.

Beautiful, colorful book for those of you who love faries. My daughter has all the "ology" books so we decided to try an "opolis" book. Not as detailed as the "ology" but a nice book to look at and keep on hand.
