A classic and gritty riff opens "Mean Street," and Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth are off and running. "Sinner's Swing" is a hard-rock take on the big-band sound, with Mr. Roth successfully capturing the vibe of the swing era. "Unchained" contains Eddie's hyperactive riffs and majestic soloing, while "When Push Comes To Shove" features a funky bassline by Michael Anthony, and a slinky rap from Roth. "So This Is Love" contains a sing-along chorus and a fluid, blues-based solo. Capping off the album is a synthesizer solo that foreshadows the 1984 album.
If it's not broke, don't fix it--Van Halen relied for quite a while on the same infectious hard-rock formula that makes FAIR WARNING a winner. The album is questionably their finest moment and is a perfect place to start exploring one of hard rock's premier outfits.

My fav Dave and Eddie CD, overall darker sounding and less poppy than their others with Roth. Of course, Eddie's work rocks and so does Dave's voice.

quick delivery good condition - this is a classic album - maybe their best. The remaster sounds good.

This record is absolutely the greatest offering from America's premiere rock band. Any collection without this release, is missing out on the true attitude and instumental prowess of the Mighty Van Halen. The frustration within the band during this period clearly shines through in the music, as it's the darkest, most angst driven record in their catalog. It's simply the guitar players guitar record.....Eddie at his absolute best.

Fair Warning is Van Halen's Sgt.Pepper, Dark Side Of The Moon, and Electric Ladyland, all rolled into one !

Van Halen is the BEST band on the planet! Then and now! I love this music but after David Lee Roth left or was fired I did not buy any more of their music. I've got all of the first few Cd's with the original line up but who could replace Eddie? Nobody. Who could replace David Lee? Nobody.

Mean Streets was the first song I've heard from this album/band. It introduced me to Eddie's amazing tapping skills and made me want to play like him.
