This book is absolutely beautiful in every aspect. The pictures and narrative stories make you want to believe that these mythical creatures must live among us. If you ever loved fairy tales as a small child (or even as an adult) then you must, absolutely must, own this book. It is a feast to revel in....a classic!

I have a strong interest in faeries (faires) therefore this title attracted my attention. Before receiving this book I was familiar with Brian Froud's work but not this particular title. This book is very pleasing. Happily I won the auction for this one. The previous week I missed a signed copy of one of Froud's work because I didn't get a response concerning the listing from the seller therefore I was cautious in bidding. Winning this auction somewhat softened that disappointment from missing the previous faerie book. This was an excellent transaction and I hope my future ebay experiences will be just as positive.

Great for Fantasy Lovers
) The first time Id seen this book was at school, a friend of mine had borrowed it and I was able to leaf through it. Even just at leafing, the illustrations amazed me. I believe it was the original print from around the 70's or so.
I recognized one of the artists names (Brian Froud) from the work he did for the movie "The Dark Crystal". Then I knew I had to have this book (as an avid fan of artbooks in the first place).
The illustrations are very nicely reproduced, and the notes and things and backgrounds of the creatures represented makes it feel like your reading a bestiary. I dont know very much about faeries and stuff and its the illustrations that drew me into this book to begin with, but now that I read through some of it Id like to do some more research into faeries and other fantasy folk.
If your a lover of fantasy, beautiful illustration, or are a fan of either Brian Froud Alan Lee or both, this book is a definate must have :)
