"Face Dances" was the next to last studio album before the twenty-some year hiatus of the The Who and was the last to include John Entwistle. The Who as a 60's/70's band seem to have found themselves lost in the musical turbulance of 1981 with the rise of New Wave and Metal and other changes like the overdue demise of Disco. But listen to this album. It is solid musically and updated in style with enough the old Who to make it recognizable as their work. Perhaps things would have gone better for the band if John Entwistle's "The Quiet One" and "You" had received more air play. "You Better You Bet' is here and is as great as you remember it; as is "Another Tricky Day". If you are a Who fan then this album should be in your collection behind Who's Next, Tommy, and Quadrophenia of course.

  Face Dances - The Who

I was searching for some music my 9-yr-old son might enjoy, and I remembered enjoying this album when I was in college. Apparently, my tastes have changed drastically. The lyrics are definitely NOT for children (or anybody else, in my opinion), and the music is average. This one's going in "the round file".
