Could have been great...
This was, for the most part, a very thorough documentary - and certainly the best I have seen on the Shroud. However, there is one glowing error. When the topic turns to the supposed amulet that hangs from the figure's neck, the scholars claim it says aleph-bayt-aleph ('Abba', 'daddy' in Hebrew). However, this is totally wrong - it does NOT have these letters on it...you can clearly see (as even shown by the letters the makers of the film superimpose over the amulet) that the latters in fact are bayt (or even possibly a 'nun'), aleph, ayin. Therefore, the amulet, if it is in fact even there, does NOT say ABBA - but that does not stop the scholars' conjecture about what that could mean...One really does have to question why such shoddy scholarship has been included into this documentary...It is clear for ANYONE with a rudimentary knowledge of Hebrew to see!
