This is a wonderful introduction to the nature of our universe. Although it is written for the layman, it covers very well the essential issues behind very esoteric concepts, helping to explain, not only what is known in cosmology, but what is not known. It's well written and very satisfying reading for those with intellectual curiosity.

The book takes you from classical to Einstein to quantum mechanics to string theory to M-theory and beyond. And all with no math! The book also explains what is expected to come from the Hadron collider, which is set to activate this year. This is a long, intense book, but well worth the effort.
