FMW vs. F.M.W.

This installment is as always mostly clipped, but without damaging the overall enjoyment. It features
all of the main matches in full and only clips the under card. But the undercard isn't why you buy these.
Though to be honest I wish they were longer as I DO enjoy all of these wrestlers. I'm a mark for Japan.
But most people buy these for the main events. The opening dialog from commentary duo John Watanabe
and Dan Lovransky is as always pretty good on John's part, and a little over excited on Dan's part.
I still say Dan "The Mouth" needs to do a little more homework. No offense, just if you're going to have
people call you "world renound" wrestling journalist, you should at least know that Sabu was NOT in
the 1994 Super J-Cup from New Japan. See my review for "FMW: The Flying Assasin" for more on that.
The Snake Sisters are no longer in these, so sorry for all you single marks out there. No eye candy.
The original Japanese commentary has also been cut out in an attempt to give Watanabe and Lovranski
the opportunity to show their skills. Watanabe does pretty good as I said, and Dan's okay just needs to
not get so excited, and do a little more research as I said earlier. Again all matches other than the
maine events are in "highlight form" and are as follow...
Kuroda & Nanjyo vs. Crypt Keeper & Flying Kid Ichihara
(Clipped)
Lioness Asyka, Eagle Sawai, Crusher Maedomari, Nagashima & Miss Mongol
vs. Nakayama, Oomukai, Shiratori, Endo & Ikeda
(Clipped)
Super Leather vs. Jinsei Shinzaki
(Clipped but still good)
Ooya & The Headhunters vs. Kodo Fuyuki, Jado & Gedo
(Clipped but still good)
Now we get down to the main reason why you probably bought, or want to buy this DVD.
The Main Event Matches. As always FMW has fantastic main events, nothing like the half
hearted efforts some of the other promotions put up. FMW wrestlers are known the world over
for busting their butts for any match they're in, and this DVD is no different.
Hayabusa vs. Mr. Gannosuke
(Hair vs. Mask)
This is (what was thought to be) the culmination of one of Japan's hottest feuds. Former best friends,
now bitter enemies in an all out war. Followers of FMW know the history, but for those who are new to
FMW, John and Dan will catch you up with some background on the feud. This match is fantastic!!!!
Kanemura, Tanaka & Onita vs. Cactus Jack, Mike Awesome & Terry Funk
This match is great. For the newcomers, again Dan and John give you a little background into the match
but not enough to get the scenario without seeing the previous DVDs. I'll give you a nutshell to help.
Awesome and Tanaka have had one of the longest running and most popular feuds in wrestling history.
Cactus is feuding with Kanemura after Kanemura replaced Matsunaga for a Deathmatch. Cactus and
Awesome (aka Gladiator) teamed with Terry Funk to form F.M.W. (Funk Masters of Wrestling) in an
attempt to basically take over FMW. Kanemura and Tanaka have called upon FMW's creator, the man
who invented the Deathmatch, the ORIGINAL Hardcore Legend, Atsushi Onita. Who will win?
Megumi Kudo vs. Shark Tsuchiya
(No Rope, Electrified / Explosive Barbed Wire Double Hell Deathmatch)
This is the first time in wrestling history that a Women's match is THE main event. This is Kudo's
retirement match, and in her final match, Kudo has decided to take on her greatest rival, Shark Tsuchiya
in a Deathmatch. The Championship Belts are on the line, and so is Kudo's reputation!
