The Eye of Judgment (Playstation 3, 2007)

To keep people honest, you have to register your deck online, which is a simple process. You get into a menu, lay down cards in front of the camera, and it adds them to your deck. On most cards you can have up to three multiples in your deck, but to do that you have to put those three right next to each other so you can "prove" to the computer that you have those three cards and you're not simply laying down one card multiple times. The process is quick and painless, and then you can name your deck so you can go in and edit it later

For us who know the concept behind Yu-Gi Oh!, players place cards on a field and are then projected in 3d in front of them, it was a great way to get interest and hopefully be something card games, and video games would soon achieve. Well now it has, but it was not Yu-Gi Oh! who was the first to coin it. Sony released this game with the same concept behind Yu-Gi Oh! but a reality.

The entire package it actually a great deal. The game and Camera alone are a great deal together. The package lets you play right away no extras are needed. The problem with the game is, it IS a card game so you will want to and maybe have to buy more cards, and as we know thats the best and worst part of card games.

The game as a whole is fairly enjoyable. The single player is more about trying out cards, and practice. There is not a in game campaign or story just straight up matches. The real meat of the game is the online. Online has lots of players around the world with many cards and strategy. There is also a mini game where the strongest card wins, but that seems like a useless tacked on feature.

The game is played by placing the cards in front of the camera, then the camera reads the card and displays on screen. Your lighting and setting effect the camera response but the camera reads the cards very well. Set up for the camera is not very hard. Its simply placing a few pieces in simple slots, takes less than a minute. The actual camera can be used to other PS3 features being released now and to come. In the near future the camera will be sold seperatly for around $50.

If you are a card game fan that wants to play them in a way that lets you see the monsters and effects rather than imagining them, this is for you. If you are someone who does not enjoy card games this is not you you.

this game was everything i thought it would be. the game is fun and pretty addicting... it does take some skill to get used to though a lot of stratagy involved.

I originally bought this title for my kid, but i find myself just as excited
about the graphics along with the stratagy of a card based game.

Ok the eye is an amazing tool for the PS3, but the game, to say the least is ok. I mean the cards are definitely worth collecting, but trying to play this game is difficult. Not so much the game, its getting the game to work correctly. You either have to much lighting, not enough lighting or the board isn't straight enough. Just be prepared when playing that if you loose lighting, like a shadow or something, you will run out of time and your turn will be forfeited. And be advised the best part of this WHOLE online experience is YOU CANNOT cheat which is a beautiful thing.

This is a good piece of hardware for any PS3. you can also goto the PSN (playstation network) and download free Video editing software to your PS3.

Not only that but the game Eye of Judgement is a pretty fun and strategic game.

The game is a unique twist on many of our beloved Trading Card Games (TCG's). It not only incorperates the "fighting" mechanic that many TCG's have, but also a bit of a checkers/chess feel in that you have to take over spaces on a board! The game has so many levels of depth to it that one can take a good deal of time to master, but in that respect it allows the player to really get into the look and feel of the game; and even become attached to certain characters you control. I highly recommend "The Eye of Judgment (PS3)", as it looks to be the next step in the evolution of gaming.

I don't quite understand why Sony and Wizards of the Coast let this one mostly get away. Perhaps it will come back in force when the PSP version hits next year?

This game is extremely cool, clever, and fun. For certain, it is a VERY unique take on tabletop, trading card gaming. I am looking very forward to getting a better handle on the strategy and deck building that will eventually lead to online play.

This is a game I'd recommend for sure, and now is a good time to jump on board again while the prices are lower due to being out of print. I expect this may change if the title takes off again in 2010, as I think it might.

If you like collectible card games (like Magic: The Gathering), then you'll love the gameplay. The problem is that while it works flawlessly about 80% of the time, 10% of the time it's a little finicky about reading the cards correctly, and the last 10% of the time it's VERY finicky. In the first day of using it, I've played matches all the way through with no problems, and I've had matches where I had to mess with it for 5 to 10 minutes to get it to read what I wanted it to.

Still recommended for any card game lover, but just be prepared for some technical difficulties every once in a while.

What I like about the game is it brings cards to life which is amazing. I bought it because of that. The only thing I dislike about it is some times the eye has trouble reading the codes on the card but that's because of the lighting. Overall it is a great game.

The game is good once you learn to play it, and get into it. I've never been into any of the trading card games, like magic, pokemon, etc, but i decided to give this a chance, since I wanted the ps3 Eye anyway. After going through the training, I was able to learn how to play instantly. The best part is that the computer keeps track of your HP and Mana, so all you really have to worry about is your strategy. Even if your not into card games, it's pretty cool to see a card come to life on the ps3. It's not for everybody, but it is for most once given the chance... Try it out.

I especially enjoy the Playstation Eye, with the only issue being the game mechanics and working properly.

The premise is great, the potential to pull in a large demographic is there, but the falsified cards via home printing that are circulating have hurt the franchise. Fix the counterfeiting and we have a fantastic, graphically involved, and easy to learn but hard to master multiplayer action/ strategy game. Don fix, and you know the old saying, " a lock only keeps an honest man honest".

Realmente yo compre mas la camara ya que no soy jugador de carta, pero el juego esta increible aunque algo complicado y se nesesita invertir tiempo para aprenderlo y dinero para mejorar la experiencia, con sus dos expanciones mas carta para poder competir.
