Movie Description The debut feature film from actor-turned-director Carl Franklin (DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS, ONE TRUE THING) is an exploitation war picture that features an engaging performance from Todd Field (RUBY IN PARADISE, EYES WIDE SHUT). Field stars as Private Anthony Glenn, an innocent young serviceman who finds himself in the war zone of Vietnam. When several members of his platoon are stranded and subsequently murdered by the Viet Cong, Glen is left to fend for himself in the jungle. Lost and alone, he stumbles across the beautiful Mei (Shirley Tesoro), the only survivor from her torched village. After being rescued by American forces, Mei is taken away from Glen, treated as a prisoner-of-war. The next time he sees her, she has become a battered, heroin-addicted prostitute. Upon learning of the cause of her downfall, Glen embarks on his own individual war. Field's naturalistic performance lends credibility to Franklin's first feature film.
