Album Notes Contains 38 tracks. 1999 German reissue. EXOTIC MIXTURE is a perfectly apt title for this two-disc, 38-track compilation of Roy Wood's solo work. Wood's music takes elements from gentle psychedelia, classical-tinged folk, heavy rock, sparkly glam pop, traditional pub sing-alongs, and doo-wopping '50s rock & roll, mixing everything into an eccentric, brainy, affable brew. EXOTIC MIXTURE includes large chunks of BOULDERS and MUSTARD, Wood's two classic mid-'70s albums, along with such later singles as the Beach Boys-tinged "Indiana Rainbow." This set is both a convenient way of getting your hands on songs from obscure and out-of-print records and a magnificent introduction to the Birmingham native's remarkable post-Move/ELO/Wizzard career. The remastered sound is excellent, and the liner notes are generous.
