Exodus (DVD, 2009)

I saw this movie way back in the day when it came out in theaters and have been mezmorized by it ever since, wether it be the title song, or by the movie being based on true facts. I watch it constiantly and every time I watch it I learn more and more about a nations struggle to survive!!

With world events focusing on the middle east and Israel smack-dab in the middle of it, I wanted to get a 'quick-learn' on the hardships that Israelites went through to get a homeland of their own. This movie added much insight into that for me. I only wish there was an Exodus II.

This is a lengendary, historically-based movie that is increasingly difficult to rent -- so we decided to own a copy for the future! It is an incomparable story of some of the events prior to the establishmnet of the State of Israel --a special event for many pople. Well worth owning.

Ihad this ond VHS and it was becoming poor because of use. I needed a new copy and I wanted to go to DVD's. So I bought one. An excellent story, well acted.

I had the opportunity to purchase this movie a year ago and did not purchase at that time. Recently I purchased Exodus and was amazed at the profound level of content and the message in the movie. Paul Newman as always, portrays a strong and dignified character. I enjoyed the movie, however, anyone considering purchasing this movie, be prepared to watch 3 hours of solid entertainment, from start to finish. Also, Sal Mineo has a great role in the movie, as well. This was a great buy, I am happy I finally purchased and have this movie as part of my Paul Newman Collection.

I have been replacing my favorite VHS tapes with DVD's when I can. I was down to my very favorite and could/would not get rid of the VHS till I had replaced it. When I got the Exodus DVD I immediately popped it into the DVD player and was disappointed that the video portion seemed flawed. Did I get a pirated copy? I was heartbroken. BUT Perhaps there was another explanation. I did a quick internet search and found that ideed this is a common complaint for this DVD. Evidently the original film has not yet been remastered and the video is a bit imperfect in places. This fact is quickly forgotten as the plot thickens and one becomes engaged in this fantastic movie.
So if you are like me and simply must have a copy of this fantastic movie, be assured that at this time to my knowlege this is the best copy available. Perhaps in the near future we will hear that the original has been remastered and we can get a better version of one of our favorites.

3 hour long movie! Get the popcorn ready! Explains the Jews struggle tto enter Israel/Palestine in 1947 post WWII Holocaust. Made me dislike the Brits for not helping(HINDERING) and at times siding with the Muslims who were working with Nazi's! Very emotional movie! Great educational movie depicting the Jews struggle to regain their homeland and become a nation. Every US kid should see this movie. As a Christian, I found this movie very illuminating and enlightening. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Gift for a friend. Saw it years ago and it still holds up. Movies were sure different then. Very enjoyagble film.

This movie touches on a very important bit of history which we should all be reminded. The White Paper allowing Jews into their homeland, and the removal of British occupation was not included in the movie, so I suggest folks who are interested should read Leon Uris's book.

My daughter hasn't seen it so I bought it for her for Christmas. I loved it.I saw this movie many years ago in Kansas city. I have seen it since but not very often.

(Exodus-1960) Great movie!!! The DVD was in excellent quality. It's as good as any of my other DVDs as far as I can tell.

We bought this movie because my husband had remembered seeing it as a boy, and we enjoy historical films. It is a must-see, classic film.

This movie is a great classic. Even though some of the characters of the movie are fiction it is based on real history about the birth of Israel. Hope you enjoy it like I do.

This movie ,I saw a while ago on tv and loved the movie. It was very accurate and it showed , some of the struggle it took for the nation of Israel to become a nation.The dvd was clear and the music was fantastic. Please if you can ,please buy this video it is worth the money spent.
