Excursions in Modern Mathematics by Peter Tannenbaum, Robert Arnold (2006, Hardcover)

Ok, first off, reviews here are meant to be ABOUT THE BOOK ITSELF! Not your experience with the seller, problems with shipping, whatever. If you didn't get your book or it wasn't as advertised that is what is what user feedback is for, go complain there. So disregard the previous reviews as they don't actaully review the book.

Anyway, on to the book review. Basically this book is for a math course taught for those who are not math majors like myself. It does a good job of breaking things down cookie cutter style and covers alot of actual useful applications of math like voting styles, apportionment, and quartiles. Stuff you would actually use in the real world, not complicated stuff you'll never see again after college.

The layout is good, problems are adequetly explained and the book is actually as much or more reading than math problems. This is the first math course I felt I actually got something out of even though the teacher was absolutely terrible. For the first time I saw a math problem and thought "wow I might actually use this one day."

I like how it goes in depth, and it has a good amount of examples for each kind of problem. Good for class.

The book is in great shape, the text is written for your average non-math goer, so needless to say, if you can read it, you can understand how to do math.

The text is overly complex and confusing. However the examples are clear, more would help. I would have liked more visual learning and less words.

The book was in the condition I expected and was delivered to me very quickly. I needed the book for a college class and buying in online saved me a lot of money. I would buy again if another book is needed.

this was terrible. i bought the book, never got it, and had to buy it again. I waited for almost a month before I could file a claim, during this time I never had my book for class and missed severl asignments. This is horrible and I will never buy anything from ebay again. The worst thing is that I have to wait months before I ever her anything back for ebay, there is no customer service number, and the claim service sucks. Ebay needs some serious customer servie improvements. Step your game up Ebay.

The vendor shipped my book out quite fast and in an efficient manner. The customer service and overall transaction was satisfying. The item that arrived was exactly as described. I wouldn't mind returning again next semester to purchase from vendor again.

I have no complaints. The book was in great condition, as promised, and there was no hassle working with the seller.

I the merchandise was in good condition which i liked. what i dislike about it was the long wait that the merchandise took to get here. I decided to buy it because i need it for a course that was taking and it was cheaper to purchase it online.

I am highly unsatisfied. I paid for it, but I never got the book! I've sent messages to the seller, and I also filed a claim with you, but I have never heard back from either one. I am very upset.
