Good game. You need to worry about overheating, and hit the jumps at the right angle or you will fall off, and be forced to run back to your bike. To me, the game is kind of boring, but my kids love it!

  Great Game
Review created: 09/16/09(updated 09/16/09)

Excitebike is a classic and its great finding one that actually works. Always fun to play! NES games can be considered so classic that they sell very well. This game is recommended to all, if you see it listed for under 10 dollars, buy it!

Despite wide availability, a collector's must

also a player's must
this game is fantastic in it's simplicity and addicting in it's complexity
anyone can pick it up and be going withing a few minutes, but to truly master it takes hundreds of hours
it's got that catchiness that gets you playing again and again saying, i can do a little better this time
it's also simple enought that you could stop and leave without feeling like you had to save, doesn't steal the time like newer more involved games do
this game is a classic and easily among the top ten on the NES

  Excitebike Classic Nintendo NES Game
Review created: 08/22/09
by:

Excitebike was one of the first games released for the NES in 1984 and was designed by gaming legend Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Mario, Donkey Kong, and The Legend of Zelda to name a few. The game is a two-dimensional motocross simulation in profile view.

The player can move between four lanes of a track, pressing the "A" button to accelerate and "B" for turbo, which may cause the bike to overheat if pressed long enough. The goal is to get a qualifying time for the Excitebike race, a championship run. Excitebike offers solo play, play against the computer intelligence, and play against another player.

Excitebike offered simple fun for a young mind, and still offers great competitive play today. Unfortunately it lacks the depth necessary to keep the attention of a modern gamer for reasons other than nostalgia. The images are flat and boring; half the screen is green and the remainder brown. There are no notable characters, a single bike to ride, and little variety in track other than where to place a particular jump, puddle, or other obstacle.

Even against competing games for the NES system Excitebike is unable to hold its own with the graphically superior R.C. Pro Am and California Games being released shortly afterward, both of which offered improved racing against friends and solo, respectively.

Excitebike was entertaining during a time when home gaming was still a relatively new concept, and the NES was gaining widespread appeal. Unfortunately the game is unlikely to hold the attention - or to even challenge - a modern gamer.

Excitebike? Excitement is more like it.
Review created: 07/05/09

For the year this game came out it was state of the art. Especially with the two different modes you can play. One with the other little men on the bikes and one with out. Not to mention that you can build your own tracks, which is fantastic!
Keep in mind people that when you are buying this game it is for the NES. One of the first game systems, so with that in mind graphics suck, music is slightly annoying. But you either love the old games or you don't, so if you are a fan of NES games and you like sports games then you would love this one.
If you are also looking for a sports game but not on a bike I would suggest Rad Racer.

Get one for FREE!!! Have a look at this video first:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFKYVE__Mug

Just take 2 minutes and read this. This is very EASY to do! It literally
takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you,
this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question! Here is what you
do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-13 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as
Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you
want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own
personal link after your orders placed.

Step 1: Click this link http:
http://www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=5452229

Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and
best).

Step 3: Complete just 1 offer (like Blockbuster or Stamps.com) and refer
up to 13 people to do the same (use eBay! Do what I did, copy my ad).

Step 4: Receive your PS3 System for FREE!!!!!!!!!! (Even The Shipping Is
Free!!!)

For proof that this is for real, click on the link below. It's the
company that is behind everything.

If you have any questions feel free to message me!! I'll Respond ASAP.
If you want hints/tips about the whole process, I'd be happy to fill you
in.

The game is ultimately a race against time and not necessarily your opponents. You must dodge rough dirty and balance yourself to make great lunges over ramps. This is while also trying to keep a maximum level of speed without overheating your bike. the game is very fun and never gets old.

  Old School Classic
Review created: 02/12/08
by:

This really is one of the best games I can remember from growing. Though it is only one player, the replay factor is what will keep you going. The graphics was pretty basic but showed a good amount of detail in the rider himself. A big help provided from the rather decent sound is the temperature alarm warning you before the bike over-heats. Lots of memories of the this game, definitly a winner!
