A friend of mine recommended this book. I own dozens of photography books, and this is now one of my favorites. The Photographs in this book alone make it a worthwhile purchase. 40 of Ansel Adam's most celebrated photographs, beautifully printed in duotone. However, in addition to the photographs, each one is accompanied by commentary and technical information written by Adams himself describing all of the aesthetic considerations and technical details that whet into the taking and production. All of the secrets of his craft are revealed in the wonderful book.
I firmly believe this book would benefit all photographers, film or digital. The book is timeless.
