Rage Against the Machine is better than Audioslave. Although, so is Soundgarden. For those of you who don't know, the lead singer of Audioslave is Chris Cornell. He used to sing for Soundgarden. When Rage Against the Machine broke up, Chris Cornell decided to form a band with the remaining members...thus Audioslave. Though..this isn't a review for them. The reason I'm writing this is because many of Audioslave's fans don't realize that there was something before them.
Rage Against the Machine is perhaps the most politically influential group of the 90's. Many compare them to the iconic Bob Dylan who regularly wrote about the injustices of government and society. Rage Against the Machine made it a focal point of "Evil Empire" to show the world that these injustices still permiate through the winds of today. The fact is, only a small percentage of the world's population heard "Evil Empire". For those of us who did, it leaves a lasting imprint.
Whenever I feel angry, riled up or just ready to rock, I throw on Rage Against the Machine's "Evil Empire"...and most notably "Roll Call".

Rage's hard sound follows through again on a 2nd CD, where they prove that they are not a one hit wonder. If you need a heavy, but upbeat soundtrack for your life, get yourelf this CD. This one will blow you away, heavy-angsty(before it was lame)-screaming-loud guitars-politically driven lyrics, Zac De La Roca is intense, and if you are lucky enough to find this album new, in the foil wrap, it's like opening a pack of baseball cards.

I am a big fan of Rage Against the Machine...I bought this CD because it has a few of my favorite songs by Rage, including "People of the Sun", "Bulls on Parade", and "Down Rodeo"...the rest of the CD is good, too, but I listen to those songs the most and that is why I bought the CD.

This is a great album for any Rage fan, as is the other 3. Yet I think that Battle of Los Angeles is a little better than this, it still posesses the energy that you'd expect from Rage Against The Machine.

This is arguably Rage's best album ever. None of the tracks dissapoint and are full of that anti-neocon somethings gotta give political rage that has defined the band so well. Even if a revolution is not your goal, tracks like People of the Sun and Bulls on Parade will get you moving into a rock induced flurry in no time.
RATM is arguably the best band to come out of the 90's (creativity should count for something, not following your record company's cookie-cutter methods) and this album is a testament to their greatness.

Good 2nd release.Good 2nd release from RATM. Lyrics that cut. Music that motivates. Not as good as 1st release, but more broader music and instrumentation. Well worth what I paid.
