Stereomud's second album EVERY GIVEN MOMENT largely picks up where the band's 2001 debut left off. These Life Of Agony offshoots deliver the goods with a heavy sound that's appropriately aggressive and cutting but never overbearing. While this is far from rap-metal, there's a rhythmic propulsion to the lyrics that's more nimble than what you hear from most nu-metal acts, and as on the first album, there's a sense of concision to the riffs and constriction to the rhythms suggesting a band that's honed its sound to a fine edge without sacrificing a drop of the sonic power that's helped them to connect in such a big way with the aggro-rock crowd. Intelligent lyrics--another element too often absent in the work of Stereomud's peers, are a big part of the package too, helping EVERY GIVEN MOMENT to stand apart from the pack.
