Album Notes Original score by George Fenton. Producers: George Fenton, Dave Stewart, Texas. Engineers include: John Richards, Keith Grant. There are a number of elements that will grab the casual consumer's attention here, but let's face it, George Fenton's score isn't one of them. That's not to say his passionate, sensitive, often humorous orchestral compositions are unremarkable; his score is the perfect complement to this charming, old-fashioned film. It's just that the one pop track (Texas' "Put Your Arms Around Me") out of this soundtrack album's 22 cuts is the one that's bound to get all the attention. And naturally, there's not much point competing with the beaming visage of Drew Barrymore, whose mug adorns not only the film, but the disc's packaging. All of which is a shame, since Mr. Fenton's work is one of the more interesting of its kind. Those attracted by the admittedly infectious Texas tune will ultimately be affected by Fenton's score for this "Cinderella Story," though.
