Movie Description The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has established itself as the nation's most exciting and innovative dance company. On this video, the company brings its dazzling style to a wider audience, without losing any of their brash dynamism or their graceful and poetry. Program includes "Divining," (the first major work that Judith Jamison choreographed for the company), "Revelations," "The Stack-Up" and "Cry." Backing music is performed by folk artist Laura Nyro, jazz great John Coltrane's wife Alice, and rock band Earth, Wind, and Fire.
