Publisher's Note The single European market challenges many insular standards and conventions in technology and commerce. Information systems, in particular, face a tremendous challenge, so the European Commission has funded Euromethod, an attempt to provide standards for the procurement and development of information systems across the boundaries of the European Union's member countries. European governments have also come together to develop EPHOS, a handbook of guidance and standards. Euromethod and Beyond describes Euromethod, why it is important and how it can be effectively implemented and addresses the technical aspects of building and managing pan-European information systems including areas currently outside the scope of Euromethod. It is intended for technical managers working in IT Systems Development, Project Management, Information Technology Services Management, and Network and Data Management, as well as for academics and students of Information Systems and Information Management.
