If you love Stevie Ray as I do, this is a great Cd to grab hold of. Has all the big radio hits and some stuff that I never heard and they rock. Great stuff.

I am entirely consumed with TIN PAN ALLEY because it describes some places I have been. There is NO song on the album I do not like. I decided to buy this CD because I lost my copy of disk 1 and now I have both disk.

I like the mixture of live and studio cuts. All the popular songs are on this double CD set. If this were a vinyl LP, it would be worn to the point that I would have to buy new.

Man, what can I say about this legend?? just that Jimi Hendrix musta been channeling through him, VOODOO CHILE, LIL WING, Is why i bought this. The rest, their originals are gold and platinum bonuses. now i just gotta find SRV's cover of RED HOUSE, & I'll have 5 or 6 different versions of it. all the rest r JIMI's. anyway this guy and his band are timeless treasures, sure miss him I'd pay top $$$$$'s to see them live!!!!!!!!!! I love Stevie Ray and the fact that the CD was in excellent condition and the shipping was reasonable, I could not resist. I have this CD set and lost one CD so I was glad to find it at a reasonable price.

We love it! My father is a huge Stevie Ray Vaughn fan and I just couldn't pass up a great deal on double cds.

This is an awesome CD. It is truly blues at it's best. For anyone who plays the guitar ,like myself, will love this CD.

There are a few different SRV greatest hits collections on the market. I used to own the single disc "Greatest Hits" (the one that includes Taxman), but I lent it out to a friend and he moved away and never gave it back. So I ordered "The Essential SRV & Double Trouble." I figured since I liked the single disc greatest hits so much, two discs would be even better! Boy, was I right.

This two-disc set doesn't include the Beatles "Taxman" cover, but it does have some of SRV's greatest live recordings. These include live versions of the raucous cover "Shake For Me," an amazing blues instrumental "Rude Mood/Hide Away," covers of Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)," Stevie Wonder's "Superstition," and Buddy Guy's "Leave My Girl Alone."

There are also many great songs that didn't make it into the single disc greatest hits compilation, such as "Love Struck Baby," "Mary Had A Little Lamb," "Tin Pan Alley," "Give Me Back My Wig," "Come On (Part III)," and the list goes on and on. Not only this but every song that comes on the single disc Greatest Hits is included in this package except "Taxman."

So in the end, the inclusion of all these great live recordings, and the previously mentioned recordings more than makes up for the loss of "Taxman." Any fan of SRV, who doesn't have the cash to buy each individual SRV release, shouldn't hesitate to pick up this set.

This is a great collection. If it's missing any songs, I haven't found one yet. Has some live tracks I hadn't heard before. If you like Stevie and/or blues guitar; it's a must buy.
