Epson Stylus® R340 InkJet Photo Printer

I was completely fed up with the stick on style CD labels. They were so frustrating. A bubble here, off center there, etc... So I started pricing quality label makers. Very nice, at not a very nice price. I couldn't justify 1200-3000 for my personal usage. I found this on Ebay NIB at an excellent price and after researching it on the net decided to go with it. I have been extremely pleased! From the first CD I printed they have all come out perfectly! I was also leery of the individual ink containers. I'm used to the all color or B&W cartridges. But, again when two of my colors went down much quicker than the others it was much less expensive to remedy and I found a wonderful seller on Ebay that sells them in bundles, again I saved a fortune! IF you enjoy labeling your CD's and DVD's I highly recommend this, as the printer works, equally as beautifully, which is another main concern, as I am very serious about my prints coming out professional looking. I usually work my dig pics in Photoshop, so I don't have a lot of use for the lcd screen and camera memory stick slots, however, if you are into printing straight from your camera, I don't see that you could want for anything else with this model. (Do keep in mind that you must purchase pre-labeled CD's & DVD's. I didn't find them to be priced much higher than regular CD's by shopping around a bit online.)

This is an excellent photo quality inkjet printer!

This printer uses 6 separate inks to provide vivid photo quality images. The printer includes a built-in LCD for viewing images that are printed either via memory card or using pictbridge direct from camera printing. Printer includes built-in media reader that supports all currently available memory media types. The printer also has the ability to directly print labels on to inkjet ready CD/DVD media.

This printer is an outstanding value for the price. I heartily recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a high quality inkjet printer at a reasonable price. As with similar printers from other manufacturers, the price of the ink will far out strip the initial cost of the printer. This printer is usually available with a rebate that can reduce the overall purchase price. Check the Epson website to see if there are any rebates available, and whether they can be used with an eBay purchase.

I love my new printer. I have put it thru it's paces. I have already had to replace the cartridges because I have used it ALOT. I have had no problems what so ever. It prints great photos and is fast. I have printer from the computer and from my camera card. It is easy to print on CD/DVD's.
Also I replaced all 6 cartridges for less than $3o bucks. It is easy on the wallet. It is a wonderful printer I'm going to buy another for work.

I got this printer about a month ago. I'm about half way through my second set of ink cartridges, and I've been happy with the quality of the prints. This is a good printer, and it has some nice features. It is a six color photo printer, so the prints are far more detailed than a cheap 4 color inkjet. It also uses seperate ink cartridges, so you can replace only the empty color and not waste ink. Inkjet photo paper gives a far better print than standard copy paper, but it is much more expensive.
Using the memory card slots and the small display lets you print without even turning on your computer. The computer can access a card in the printer, but for some reason if the card's contents are changed by the computer the printer won't realize it unless you remove the card and put it back in.
You can print on CDs and DVDs with the included tray, and there is also an insert for the tray to print on mini CDs and DVDs. The included software works, but it isn't that user friendly. It WILL keep you from overspraying outside of the disc's surface, but that's about the best thing about it.
Overall, this is a good printer, but there is nothing new or revolutionary about it. Nice features, good print quality and speed, and fairly quiet while printing.

I Previoously owned an Epson R300 which was purchased stricly for Print-on Cd work. It was one of the most versitile printers I have ever owned. (Count 10). It died and I went searching for a upgrade replacement. I researched on the Eposn web site and found that the R340 was the solution. The price I paid on Ebay was less than what I paid for it's little brother retail and the features are much enhanced. The back lit control was a great idea, faster printing,the memory card read-outs and the high fidelity photo prints make this Epson series stand ouot above the rest. Only in this price range can you get Print-on CD capabilty.

Being a life-long Epson printer lover, I recently upgraded from the R220 to the R340 and I'm very glad that I did. The R340 is loaded with features that you would have to pay hundred more with other manufacturers. While they're too many to mention in this review, I especially like being able to connect my camera directly to the printer, crop, push print and voila! 4x6 borderless Lab quality prints in less than 15 seconds WITHOUT using my PC. You can also make prints from all Memory Card formats without using your PC which is also another cool feature among many. Since I make a lot of them, I also enjoy the ability to print directly onto CDs & DVDs. This saves me a lot of money by not having to buy CD/DVD labels and any/all problems associated with them that I've had in the past, i.e., bubbles, off-center problems, peeling, etc.; By printing directly on them, I get a much more professional look to them which I really like. As for ink, the 6 color way is the ONLY way to go. In the long run you do save money whether you use Epson OEM inks or other brands. I have found a company that manufactures an ISO 9001 generic that meets or exceeds Epson's quality and I save between 85%-90%! It's really great. fast & great printing... It can print on a printable CD/DVD. it is really nice. I think it is really gerat function for me. Also it has USB2.0 which has higher speed than USB1.0

I bought it primarily to print on CD's and DVD's. It is easy to operate and does a very professional job. The print quality and color reproduction are outstanding.

The product was fine. The shipping was fine, even though it was too high. But I'm very disappointed with the seller who never left me feedback. I paid within 2 minutes of purchasing the item and I was very friendly to him/her. Never got feedback. Why not? I dislike sellers who hold feedback for ransom and they got their money, they should leave me positive feedback. This isn't right.

I originally purchased the R380 (high-def) photo printer and noticed that the high -def resolution wasn't much different than the R340 prints. R340 ink cost less and prints like high-def prints. I am now planning to purchase another R340 to have a second back-up for my business. GREAT ITEM and EPSON all the way for any photo printing.

The Epson Stylus R340 does everything well. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it produces photo quality pictures. It also works well for everyday printing of documents. I have owned this printer for more than 3 months and it never has had a problem. Highly recommended.

So faR THIS PRINTER RUNS LIKE A CHAMP. iF IT WAS A LITTLE FASTER, it would be the best inkjet in the world.

Epson should have NEVER quit making these. This is my 3rd one. If you find one oe E-Bay you will probley be bidding against me! I've just worn out 2 others!!

I collect a lot of music on c.d.'s and wanted to print labels for them. I started with paper labels, then found the R340 printer on eBay and bought one. I was amazed at how good it is. The R340 printer does exactly what I want it to do.Although I have never printed photos on paper with the R340;I am confident it will print excellent photos as well.I recommend this printer for everyone who plans to print photographs because of its versatility.

what i love about epson photo printer is its excellent print and color for digital photos, and what i really love too is this one prints on printable cd disk.

the only thing i dislike is buying 6 diffrent ink cartridges.
but still it prints so good.
