I purchased one new and love it. It uses a lot of ink!

It used more than either of my HP's but gives a great picture in return. There have only been a couple of paper jams due to my error. This printer is smooth and has no problems printing after not being used for several months.

The driver was a snap to install and the operation is simple. There are plenty of fancy smancy things the software allows you to do, but my needs are simple. I now use it as the dedicated printer for my older computer assigned to pay my bills and print maps. It beats my HP's hands down in the speed and clariety of maps. At one time I was routing 4 to 10 people a day with maps printed on my '777' and never had a complaint or problem from any of the users.

It has handled glossy paper, heavy bond, transparencies, CD covers, envelopes, address labels, business card stock as well as 'T' shirt transfer paper. Using any of this media never created a problem.

Many people may have never heard of the '777' before, but I got one and love it!!!

Black ink didn't print at all but it said "worked fine"

The description said that the printer worked and had all cables. Well when we got the printer it only had the power cable, not a usb cable and having had the exact same printer in the past I know that it originally came with one. It also didn't have the installation disk, but since we had previously had one it worked. When we turned it on and check the ink levels. Replaced the black ink with a new cartridge and proceeded to print something. The color ink printed fine, but the black wasn't printing at all. After sending it to a guy we know who fixes electronics to clean it the black ink printed half way. When I was about ready to give up I thought "well I'll do 3 head cleanings and see if that works". After the head cleanings miraculously the printer worked just fine...But we were very disappointed that the printer that stated it was in fine working order didn't work right when we got it and had to be clean like that. I would NOT recommend buying printers from this seller.

I am bidding on this printer to replace one just like it. The replacement ink cartidges cost about 1/3 of the other printers on the market. I had the other 77 for 4 years and it just quit wotking so I'm bidding on something I know is a reliable printer. New printers don't necessarily mean better and the 777 Epson is a inexpensive quality printer.

I have owned two of these printers. They are durable, long lasting, and give fine results for the price!

  Epson 777 Printers

The printer heads need to be cleaned often. This printer uses more ink then any I've owned. Because I bought several ink cartridges, when the first printer broke down I looked for another. That printer soon would not feed paper into the printer. Still owning several cartridges I bought another yesterday. I think it might have been cheaper to throw away 8 ink cartridges based on ink consumption, print outs, and breakdowns. My next printer will probably be an HP because of their reputation, even though the cost of their cartridges are much higher.

I purchased this item, because the one that I had gave out. I had purchase many ink cartridges for my printer, so I wanted to get one just like it, so that I wouldn't loose the money invested in the new cartridges. I looked at about 4 or 5 of them on ebay, but the reason that I purchased this one from the seller, is because she was smart enough to print out a check printer sheet in the printer picture that she took. I didn't figure that anyone would have one of these laying around if the printer wasn't working. The packaging could have been better, being as one of the screws on part of the bottom molding was broken when it was received, but since that doesn't hamper the operations of the printer, it is ok, and I didn't say anything about it. Most people don't understand how hostile shiped items are handled during shipping. I was very glad that there was a small amount of these printers available on ebay, so that I wouldn't loose over $50.00 in ink.

Great quality all around printer for a reasonable price

I have owned two of these printers and I have to say it is one of the best general purpose printers I have ever owned. The printing on bond paper is crisp and the colors robust and it prints quickly for an older model printer. I found one of these printers for $2 in a thrift shop where it had been sitting for a year according to the owner and I brought it home, cleaned it up and hooked it up to my laptop. The first printed pages were fantastic. This printer pales in comparison to some of the newer models out on the market, but it is still a solid performer at a great price. It has the versatility of using a USB cable or a parallel port for older PCs. The Epson website has the latest drivers for this printer and I was able to use it with my Windows XP laptop PC with no problems at all. This printer is worth a look if you want reliability and a reasonable price.

  Epson 777

This Epson Printer has a ink waste counter.
It counts every cleaning which is very often on this epson 777
When it reaches a certain number it shut itself down and you have to bring it to a epson certified repair shop. Which cost more than the printer is worth.
It also has a chip on each ink cartrige that only lets the cartridge make a limted number of passes or pages. Even when there is still ink in the cartridge.
Spare yourself the aggravation.
