This is my second All in One Epson printer (the first was a 4200). This one produces much better high quality images, the scanner is great and the print speed is fast. Unlike other printers, the Epson individual ink cartridges save money and produce better results.

Great product for the price!

Out with lexmark and in with epson!!!!!!
Review created: 05/11/06

I had been using a Lexmark printer for the past 3 years and it was time for a change. I wanted a flatbed scanner, the prints were coming out a little fuzzy, a little dirty, and the maintenance programs were not working. Lexmark ink cartridges cost a ton of money and they don't last very long, and the status software is not that great. The Epson Stylus CX4800 all-in-one printer. For $129 I got an attractive looking package that took up less space, had a greater paper capacity (100 sheets of plain paper), and did everything I wanted...and did it better than I expected. This printer offers great resolution in all modes. It scans at 1200-2400dpi! It is both quiet and quick, offering 20ppm in b&w and 19ppm in color. The controls are located in a panel on the left side of the top of the printer, are clearly marked and easy to use. Via those controls you can select number of copies, type of paper, size of paper, fit-to-page mode, color or black and white prints, all with the push of a button and without involving the computer Unless you want to, in which case the included software has you covered. There is never any question of where you are because the selected modes are highlighted on the control panel. There are slots in the front left side of the printer to accept SD XD, SM or MS/Pro memory cards...or you can connect you camera directly to the printer via A USB port set up for pictbridge! A button on the control panel allows you to select the cards or pictbridge, print an index sheet, print all, or print images selected on the camera. If you select the index sheet, you get thumbnails, set up so you can mark the images you want, the number of prints for each image, and scan the results back into the printer, which then prints your pictures as ordered...all without the use of a CPU!In copier mode, you simply place the document to be copied on the scanner, punch in the number of copies you want, select color or b/w, and away you go! Everything this machine prints comes out clear, sharp and well defined, without grain, with great contrast and color. The only problem I have is that the scanner tends to INTENSIFY the color of scanned documents. The software provides a means of fixing that but I simply haven't gotten that far with it yet. Which brings me to the software...installation and setup were quick and easy. The on-screen users guide is comprehensive, well organized and easy to use. Connection to the computer, when desired, is through a USB 2.0.
Instead of a b/w cartridge for $27, a color cartridge for $32, and a photo color cartridge for $39, The Epson takes 4 cartridges...black, blue, red and yellow...for a total of about $50...the first set is provided with the machine and the next set is available at a discount through Epson's website. When a color is empty, you replace just that color, not all three! so you spend $12 for "blue" instead of $32 for "color"! ands that I am sticking with epson from now on, the extra money I spent to buy this machine I saved on ink!

All in all, This printer gives you great quality and features, its 5 times better then a compatible lexmark in the same price range and will save you some money on ink. I recommend this printer to anyone who needs to replace there Lexmark!!!! I am sure some of you know what I mean. Thanks for reading my review. Chris

Positive Review for Epson Stylus CX4800
Review created: 11/01/06

My daughter needed a printer for making color copies with the intention of offering them for sale at craft shows. Our old printer, an Epson Stylus 3200, although doing excellent printing, did not work well for doing photos. After much research on the 'net from various sources, it appeared that the 4800 might be what she was looking for.

I was quite delighted that it was smaller than the previous printer. It is much quieter than its predecessor, emitting just a whirring and humming as opposed to a much louder noise. The printer does more copies per minute and we have found that the quality of the photos is much better than our old printer.

We are still experimenting with it,but we are more than pleased with its quality of printing, ability to do photos, ease of operation and size.

Epson Stylus CX4800 All-In-One InkJet Printer

This series of Epson All-In-Printers are a great group of printers that are easy to use and normally very dependable. This CX4800 is a replacement for a CX4600 that had been damaged. They are very similar. From the time I started opening the box until I was printing, was probably no more than fifteen minutes. I would highly recommend it for home use or light business use.

For the price (I paid about $70 after rebate) this is a very good printer. Its only drawback is that it is quite bulky and does not fit comfortably into a typical computer cabinet. I have printed many photos from this unit and it prints very well, is quick and is not an ink hog. The individual ink tanks make it more economical than a cheap dedicated printer like the C60. Scanning and copying are equally good and very convenient. Well worth it.

Review created: 09/06/09

I am very like to use this printer because it is reliable and inexpensive. I have Epson CX4800 printer for my label printing work. I had the printer several years before it broke down, then I bought this one to replace it.

I bought the printer because the Epson Stylus CX 4800 that I had previously owned and liked was inadvertently broken by me just after I had bought 4 new ink cartridges for it and I discovered that it had been manufacture discontinued.

  8400 Copy/scan/print ROCKS!!
Review created: 02/09/08
by:

I had two Epson printers online at my home and another at our other home. Two 777's and a 740. The 777 and the 740 both quit here so I went looking for another Prices on these were astronomical, even higher than the 8400 I ended up getting for 48 + S&H. When it arrived, it set up easily with the software disk installation. I was impressed with all the functions it offers as well as the ease of use, and very impressed with the quality of the impressions it made. I had read that this printer and others in the series guzzled ink like a wino, but I do not print a lot, so am willing to pay the extra. After all, when ya dance, ya gotta pay the fiddler.
I ordered a 6000 for the other Mac in the bedroom and expect it to perform as well as this 8400.

Epson cx4800 all in one printer
Review created: 01/20/07

For the price I paid it seems to do a great job. I replaced an Epson 100ICS all in one printer with the CX4800.
The only complaint that I have is that the 100ICS had a smart panel which let you do many things with one click. Example scan to E-mail. The Cx4800 makes you putscanned items in a file and then you have to E-mail the file. seems like a lot of extra work compaired to the old 1000ICS
