Epson Stylus® C84 InkJet Printer

I was very disapointed because the add indicated the c84 printer was in good working order. When it arrived I immediately ran it through all the maintenance
functions and it would not print anything. I had plenty of ink because my old printer was a c84. I went and bought new ink and almost used it up trying to clean the print head which was dried up. I called the seller and told them about the issue and they told me they didnt actually check it out but their
daughter said it worked. I was out the money. Very disappointing for my first Ebay experience.

I bought this to see if I could use some of the parts to get one running for a friend. I have a hobby of buying things on the net for family and friends, sometimes for myself too.

This printer worked fine for about 3-4 months. Then it just stopped printing. No amount of head cleaning would fix it. I also beleive the ink is excessively priced. Save your money.

This is a good picture printer but you need to know how to take of the printhead. Keep to sets of the cartridges and do not leave the printer without any cartridge and use the printer every now and then to keep the printhead moist for optimum printing. For cheaper solution use refill cartridges -- variouse outlets out there.

This is a great printer if you do not want to spend alot of money. The print quality is good. The thing to watch out for is that the parts inside the printer will wear out after about 2 years of average, everyday use.

I purchased an epson stylus c84, they are known for being a pain. but i thought this one would be diffrent. turns out i was wrong. oh well. i guess i learned never to buy an untested item.

I purchased this printer,because the C84 I was using was flashing a message stating that,operating life of the computer had expired.
The item I purchased was to replace this unit. It never worked,and in days I junked it. It was listed as replaced stock from NASA offices.
I have since purchased an Epson R280,and it works fine.
The ability to warn the user that a unit is about to malfunction,raises many questions.

I owned a brand new one and the photo quality was exellent, but when the print heads get plugged you mught as well throw the whole printer away. I wouldn't believe any one who is selling a used one because they do print very well or they wouldn't be selling it. Unless you can see it print stay away from used ones. The ink is very expensive, but then again it prints some beautiful pictures.

I'm on my second C84, first replaced under warranty. You CAN'T print black only...sucks all colors printing black. Computer chips on the ink carts calculate of prints runs then shut down, indicating "empty" when 60% full. Major INK HOG: it will use 1/3 of a cart performing head-cleaning... which it does at every start-up. You will have to run a head clean 2-3 times every time you use it. Epson Tech Support - a JOKE! DO NOT BUY THIS HUNK OF CRAP!!!

I like all my Epson printers I use with my macs (4) except the Epson CX4600. I looked all over for an Epson C80 something that would print on OS 9, after the C86 they did not have any printdrivers for that system. I found the C84 used on ebay and it works perfectly. I would highly recommend it.

I've had my Epson C84 for about 3 years. It hasn't been used much because I've been sick. But I think it's a wonderful printer. I've printed beautiful photo's. The ink cartridges are expensive, but they are for all printers! You only have to replace the one that is low on ink. I'm selling mine, because I need a scanner and copier. I'll miss my C84! I actually did replace it with an Epson CX500n All in one, printer, copier, scanner. Love it!

fast, i like it beacuese it looks cool and is really fast and bright. it also attracts all of the ladys

Excellent printer. I am using it at work for alot of reports and it has been working fine. The price was right also.

Very reliable, quiet and efficient. Refill cartridges are very economical, and the print quality is outstanding.

I am an artist and graphic dessigner. My Epson C84 provided me with top notch prints. It was a work horse for me for about two years printing almost every day (and I pruchased it new for only $75). I made the proper setting "best Photo" in the proper window before printing and the colors were vibrant and objects were clear. The Dura Ink resists fading and when it finally died, I had a hard time replacing it with another C84. Epson no longer makes this model and the newer models don't run with my older operating system (Mac).
Many professional artists have their artwork reproduced with Epson professional purpose printers because they can duplicate the colors so well.
I like the fact the there are four (4) iink cartridges so I only replace the ones that go dry. I f I don't run it for a week or more, I remover the cartridges and place them in a a resealable zip lock plastic bag. The inks will dry out if they are not usedbecause they are liquid.
I would highly recommentd Epsons printers to anyone. I tried an HP but the colors just couldn't match the output of the Epson. The HP was a waste of my time and money.
I would highly recomment Epson printers to anyone. I can't understand the negative reviews. If the printer is used often, the inks will always work til they run out. If you make the proper settings in the window for the type of paper or photo paper used and the quality you want, it is unmatched (you have many options with the settings). I think many lay people don't do either and therefore think this is a mediocre printer. It is not!

...the C84 is no exception. I'm reading through the bad reveiws that other people have left and can't believe it. I have only ever had minimial problems with any Epson printer I've owned. Not only that, but Epson has some of the best customer service around. They are so helpful if you have any trouble installing, etc. If you take care of a printer, it will take care of you. Regular maintence on the print-heads is always a good idea. I would also suggest the re-manufactured ink cartridges if you are looking to save a few bucks. The C84 is also a bargain for people looking to do sublimation. Many companies sell bulk ink flow systems for this printer. I give the C84 a 4/5 rating. Look for people on eBay selling ones that are new and still in the box. If you buy used, you never know how the printer was treated before it got to you!

total piece of crap. don't buy. i bought extra carts, money wasted as it turned out. i bought the printer and extra cartridges to no avail when it stopped work epson printer.ing. i'll never buy another

I got this printer to use for school. Most things are online these days so my printing was pretty minimal. I'd say I printed about 10-20 pages per month. This piece of junk went through two black cartridges ($30 a piece) and then quit printing completely. No amount of cleaning or alligning would fix the problem. I have no warranty or receipt because it was a gift. Total use time: about 8mo. With the amount of money I spent on cartridges, I wouldn't get this printer if it was given to me for free. Wish I'd gotten a gift receipt or something so that I could get a printer that works! Very disapponted in EPSON and would not get a printer from them again!
