Album Notes
Sugarland: Jennifer Nettles (vocals, acoustic guitar); Kristian Bush (various instruments, background vocals).
Recording information: OceanWay, Nashville, Tennessee.
With the departure of founding member Kristen Hall, Sugarland slimmed down to a duo. Losing one-third of the formula that made their debut a country/pop crossover smash might seem a daunting proposition, but ENJOY THE RIDE finds remaining members Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush not only surviving but thriving. Nettles's brassy belting has more sass and sex appeal than ever, and the in-your-face attitude on many of the pair's songs is even more brash and boundary-pushing than the most full-throttle moments on 2004's TWICE THE SPEED OF LIFE. While the uptempo tracks indicate that Sugarland has been paying attention to the Gretchen Wilson/Big & Rich camp, they're handily offset by more reflective balladic moments, making this a well-balanced RIDE.

In all my years of buying cds, I've never bought one, took it home, and loved every song on it....Until not that is.....Sugarlands new cd, Enjoy The Ride, is amazing. Each song tells a story....
    1. Settlin' - tells the story of a woman whos spent her whole life settlin' for way less than she deserves, she finally decides to never settle for anything less than everything....amazing lyrics & vocals....
    2. County Line - tells the story of a where home is to this girl/guy, and their favorite place happens to be the county line, that's where they have the most fun and where most of their memories were made....its a great song.....upbeat with excellent lyrics....
    3. Want To - I've heard many people interpret this song differently...My interpretation of the song is that it's about a girl and a guy deciding if they want their love for eachother to go on and stay together or if they want to go on alone living their lifes and persuing their dreams without one another...great lyrics and vocals....
    4. Everyday America - Great song! The music and lyrics are both exciting....A song about the highs and lows, happy days and struggles or everyday people in everyday America....Tells the story of how everyone wants to get out of where they are, but how when your age changes your way of thinking changes and it doesnt matter where you are as long as youve got the people you love with you...
    5. Happy Ending - I'd have to say this is one of my favorites if not my very favorite....It has amazing lyrics and very impressing vocals....it tells the story of how everyone in this world is looking for the same thing, a happy ending....i love how it mentions fairy tales like cinderella and then all the way from their mentions people all the way to the end when it mentions martin luther king jr. and astronauts.....its a great song about real life.....
'and to all those dreamers who have come and gone, who have reached for the stars who have overcome, your the hope your the wish, your the truth, baby heres the proof, babys born in the ghetto, babys born with a silver spoon, one tells his momma 'I have a dream' one tells his momma 'i'll walk the moon'
    6. These Are The Days - another great song on here with extra impressive vocals. We get to hear not only Jennifer Nettles but also we hear Kristian Bush sing a verse solo which we've never heard before. Not only are the vocals impressive but the lyics are amazing also....'well it feels like we're living pay check to check, we wake up wondering what might happen next'...tells the story of two people trying not to forget to live for today because afterall 'these are the days'
    7. One Blue Sky - another song that I've heard interpreted many different ways is One Blue Sky, In my opinion it's a song about the struggles in life.
    8. April Showers - a song about how the good times pass and you've got to believe that the bad times will also, 'april showers bring may flowers'
    9. Mean Girls - upbeat song about mean girls
10.Stay - song about the 'other' woman in a mans life. Shes struggling to get him to see she's the one he should be with and keeps begging him to 'stay', in the end she realizes shes worth more than having to share a man and says 'the next time you find, you wanna leave her bed for mine, why don't you stay....I don't have to live this way so why don't you stay..'
    11. Sugarland - a song about finding true love at a young age and also about finding a place you love and just about living life.....
