Warriners English Grammar and Composition 1977

Warriners published a number of English Grammar and Composition student school texts with different levels of difficulty: from Introductory Course, First Course, Second Course, Third Course, Fourth Course, Fifth Course and Complete Course. The lower level courses work well for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders while the others are more appropritate for high school students. Advanced students can work well with the upper levels. The Complete Course text is an excellent handbook for graduating high school seniors and can be carried as a reference text to college. Although I taught seventh grade language arts, I used the Complete Course text to study for the Praxis teachers' exam. There are also correlated series: English Workshop, Composition, and Vocabulary Workshop. Any appropriate level would work nicely for Home School students who can work at their own pace with help from adults. A teacher's edition is available but difficult to locate. My Fifth Course has over eight hundred pages. I use the Complete Course as a personal handbook when I have questions about usage. The texts are more than just grammar texts with exercises to complete. Texts cover much of the English curriculum. Teachers can create their own worksheets from the hundreds and hundreds of exercises available. Lower level texts, or exercises from them, could be used for remediation.
Warriners is a great series for both students and teachers.
