The End by Lemony Snicket (2006, Hardcover)

This book, sadly was the end of a beloved series. What I liked about this book is that when it ends it gives you more questions. Who is Beatrice and why was her name on the boat? This book is not the happiest story you'll ever read but not all stories are happy. In this book Kit Snicket finally gives birth to her baby and the town near the sea dies of a illness. In this series the Baudlaries face reality when they figure out life is not always great. I think that's a important lesson for everyone to know. This book contains bad and good surprises and I highly recomend it.

Disappointed that this is the end of A Series of Unfortunate Events, I was quite pleased at the ending. Lemony Snicket portrays darkness and misery and you feel that this is actually happening to you when you read this. This last book in the misfortunate series provides facts into the Baudelaires's parents lives and some many secrets are told. Two deaths are read through the book and a new baby is born. Many unfortunate events occur during the book, some that made me sigh and feel like I shouldn't read the book anymore, but I finished it and I was quite happy that I did. The ending is pleasent and it kind of leaves you hanging, but it's for the good. I'm really disappointed that Lemony Snicket "Daniel Handler" has finally concluded the lives of the three Baudelaire Children from the Bad Beginning to The End, but I'm happy about the Baudelaires's ending. This book is recommended to anyone that has read the series and for people that haven't read the series, but you will understand this book more if you read the series from the beginning.

This book is so much more then i can put down. It is all so speechlessly true and powerful. I cried four times-and then went into shock! It's like Lemony says my thoughts. It is all so emotional-everything from Beatrice to the RING. V.F.D is expecially important. I can't even think of anything it needs. I promise that this book will be more then anything you have ever read. You won't be disappointed in the least. Please choose to purchase this book. If you don't you'll need help. That way you can learn the mystery of the RING and all of the other secrets that are dangerous to you- rather you know them or not. He warned you from the very bad beginning that it might be more then you can handle.

The reason that I purchased this book is because my son loves Lemony Snicket. These books are the reason that my son started to like reading. For a boy in the third, fourth, and fifth grades there is not alot out there that peaks thier interest in reading, this is the answer!! I know girls enjoy reading them as well. The stories are on the dark and gloomy side but they are written in a style that is humorous to these age groups. If you are looking for chapter books that are different and addictive for your child this is it! Teaching a child to read is one thing but teaching them to love reading is another and Lemony Snicket was the answer for my son.

I purchased this item (book) for my son's birthday, as it was the only book in this series he did not have. It was explained in good detail but what I found strange was the way the end of the pages looked (collated almost). I believe it was meant to be done that way, just not impressed by it. Overall, the item fit the need/purpose.
