I love The Encyclopedia of American Farm Implements & Antiques by C.H. Wendel.
Mr Wendel's books are the best guides I have seen on old farm equipment and antique tractors. The high quality pictures and descriptions are often copies of the original manufactures ads. The books also have great pictures of restored tractors and impalements. I often carry the book in the car so I can use it as a reference when at farm sells. I weld lawn furniture out of old farm equipment and it is great to know what the materials I am using was original used for. I have also gotten ideas from Wendel's books when designing and building implements for my garden tractor. Everytime I think I have came up with a new idea, I have to remember what an uncle once told me, "There is nothing new under the sun, Sometimes you find it hidden in the shade". MR. Wendel's books has proven that old adage several times to me. If you collect tractors, old farm equipment or just want to read and be nostalgic about the equipment from the past that shaped American agriculture you can't go wrong with any of C.H. Wendel's books.
