Enchanted Arms is a capable and often enjoyable role-playing game, but it's also one that you'll likely forget as soon as you finish it.
The Good: Surprisingly natural, funny dialogue for a role-playing game; unique battle system is fun and challenging; the collectible golems are all unique and useful.
The Bad: Awful English voice acting; too much tedious backtracking through large, vacant, and uninteresting areas; aside from some flashy battle animations, the visuals are unimpressive; it's frequently difficult to get a good view of the battlefield; sixaxis control features feel silly and out of place.
Given the chance, I would rent this game instead of buying.

Enchanted Arms for PS3
I really don't have much to say about this game. I bought that game after buying such titles as Heavenly Sword, Def Jams Icon, Madden 07 & 08, Genji: Days of the Blade, Tony Hawk's Project 8, and many more.
I'll tell you the story in it's entirety. I bought Enchanted Arms, went home, put the game in my PS3, pressed 'Start' 3 times, then the game started. I watched 3 minutes of cinematic cut scene while pressing 'x' about 20 times. The game starts with cinema cut scene and the voice acting was so horrible I took the game out, put it back in its case and haven't played it since. The voice for each character sound as if they hired 40 year old singles from an online dating service and paid them in free web-based dating for a year for doing the voices. The character look like you're playing Nintendo 64.

Enchanted Arms is a fun and enjoyable RPG for the PS3..
Some good things about this game are.. The battle system is unique and can be fun once you get the hang of it, fun to collect Golems that are each unique and you may need their powers throughout the game..
But of course there are some bad as well.. The English voice acting was really unbearable at times, alot of tedious backtracking through areas, the visuals were not the best other than some in battle and it's sometimes difficult to get a good view of the battlefield..
So to sum it all up, I would say rent this game before you buy it but if you like it, then by all means, purchase this game if you really get into it.. I mean they did port this game over so it's not like they spent all this time on it but it is still good, have fun!

Game just plainly sucks all around.......read the other reviews and you will see why. I normally don't write many bad reviews but I am trying my best to inform you not to waste your money. If you hear something hit you in the back of the head as you exit the store, it was your change.

Ok do not even think about purchasing this. Maybe just grab like the Demo and try it out. If your a FFX fan, this doesnt even come close. This is one of the few games for the PS3 where I will say the GFX suck. Seriously they do. Nothing is good about this game.

I am a lover of RPG's of almost any sort. NOT THIS TIME! I tried about 3 or 4 times to play this game over the course of a year, and couldn't even stay interested in it enough to play it again before deleting it off my system.
I thought that maybe it just sucked in the beginning, but NO, it just sucks.
The only real reason to buy this game is to own one of the few rpgs for PS3.
If you aren't collecting it for the sole purpose of viewing the box on your shelf, then DON'T BUY IT, because sitting on your shelf is exactly where it'll go after about 30 min of it.
Graphics: good enough
Sound: good enough
Gameplay: not even fun enough to stay interested (even if it's your only game)

Fun turn-based RPGPros:
1. Really the only traditional JRPG on PS3. This and Eternal Sonata are the only 2 older-style RPGs on PS3.(turn-based) This game also adds golem collection (which is basically like Pokemon)..100+ that you can defeat, and than any of them can be added to your party if you want to replace any of the Humans in your 4-person battle party.
2. Great battle-sytem: combined normal turn-based with a grid/tactical element.
3. Sometimes annoying, but generally good amusing story, too seriously seem to miss the point.
4. 50+ hours of gameplay.
5. Some great CGI cutscenes, well-spaced, and not anywhere near over-done. (i.e no 10 minute movies, and only a few CGI scenes in the entire game)
Cons:
1. A bit too Linear.
2. More weapon and spell variety would have been nice.
3. Medicore graphics at best. (though the CGI scenes are beautiful in HD)
4. Dialogue acting was among the worst I've seen. (probably put much more effort into the Japanese, since this was an import, and not a big US title).

Enchanted Arms PS3I like turn-based rpgs more than any other type of game. I have enjoyed EA. Combat is good not great. Storyline good. Not near enough powerups or control on the character. Mainly controlled be the game. I would still play it again, knowing what I know now. But it is not good enough to go through a 2nd time.

Good, Underrated GameThis is a pretty good game. For those that would compare it to a Final Fantasy RPG you will be disappointed. The story is entertaining, not epic, but I found myself getting into it the more I played it. The graphics are pretty good, however, I did notice some frame-rate issues. I rented the game from GameFly and thought that this was worth $20.00, but not full retail.

I like the turn base fighting style. I also love the amount of characters , you can have. It was a great buy with good graphics . Some of the lines are a little repetative , but game was still enjoyable.

Decent game for The Price.The game is ok as far as role playing goes.....it plays similar to Final Fantasy RPG'S.

Even though the title has had some minor flaws, it is still in my opinion a very good role playing game. Playing the game kinda takes me back to the times when I was playing through FFX. So many people seem to complain about the English dialouge, but if they don't want to hear it they can just simply switch it back to Japanese audio with English subtitles. I'm not very far in the game and it is weird that one of the charcters is gay lol, but I still appreciate the role-playing elements of the game. I feel PS3 would have a much greater impact in sales if they were to release more role-playing games on their system.

Close, but No CigarThe game has a good concept, but bores pretty quickly. If you have enough patience to give this game a chance by all means try, but that wasn't the case for me. I was pretty disappointed and annoyed.

Decent RPG, great for the MSRP $20Graphics don't do the PS3 justice, but it does look better than the 360 screenshots I've seen and it experiences only slight slowdowns during gameplay (tho the transitions screen from roaming to battle seems laggy always). The Japanese voice overs are awesome (although the English track is horrible). Dialogue is pretty funny and the story is fairly captivating (I like it more than FF12's story, but I hated FF12's story :P). One quirk I have is that the battle system doesn't seem to encourage using golems very much and I find myself using the main characters mostly. Cinematics range from horrible to fair, but don't expect squaresoft quality here. The gameplay is pretty linear and it even tells you your objective, so you never have an excuse for being lost in the game. Although I think of this game more of something to keep me busy until a better JRPG comes along, the other reviews I've seen are much much too harsh on this game. This game is a must for RPGers and at $20 I dont see why the rest of us could refuse it. One word of advice, however, if your game is freezing at load screens....turn off your background downloads....as Sony did not seem to have had much complaints about this....to release a patch.....but yea....dont play and dl at the same time. have fun :)
