Encaustic Art by Michael Bossom (1997, Paperback)

After seeing a demonstration on HGTV's "That's Clever" of encaustic art using colored waxes and heated tools, I became very interested in this medium and hungry for more information. I orded this book from eBay, and was not disappointed. Through the use of many color illustrations, it was very helpful in my learning some new techniques with heated tools, which I have since purchased.I was amazed at wat could be done with hot wax and a mini-iron! I have since sold my first paintine.

The book arrived in a timely manner and in good shape. Encaustic means working with wax. This book explained the art and gave simple directions. But, before I bought this book I had never heard of encaustic art! Now I have a new adventure of creativity before me. The simple lessons have great follow along descriptions and pictures. Each lesson adds a new technique to the previous lesson. The end of the book challenged the artist to try some different approaches to working with wax.
I have much to learn, but am having a great time in the process.
