Overview of training & development

Personally, I think it is just another textbook on training and development. It does have examples of company practices throughout the book, but I still think it's a little bit theoretical. One example is the "models of organizing the training department". The explanation and illustration of the different models are just similar to any other textbooks on management and strategy. Being a trainer myself, I do prefer to see a comprehensive textbook with more how-to tips and sample forms. However, it is still a good textbook for those who are new to the training and development field, and want an overview of how the training function fits in an organization.
