Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas (DVD, 2005)

This movie brings back a lot of memories from when my son was a child. He loved Jim Henson's muppets. This was and still is his favorite Christmas special. It represents how it is better to give than receive. It teaches how family is close and would sacrifice for each other. We all need to remember how important family is.

Saw this movie when it was originally released. This movie came out when my children were little and it entertained and touched us. I am elated to find it to watch again with my young grandchildren and their parents. This is not just a Christmas movie, it is a movie about family and I Highly Recommend it to parents and children of all ages. This is,I feel, the best Jim Henson movie ever made!!!!!!

I love the songs & characters. It brings back memories of watching it as a family on HBO. I was surprised to see that it was made into a DVD. I can't wait to get it!

ever since i was a kid I have loved emmot otters jug-band christmas and when now that it isn't on tv as much and or cause of my crazy schedule i figured i should get it baught for my own collection. I run a daycare and just feel every child should be able to at least see it once.

We decided to buy this movie because it was something that we had both watched as children and we thought it was something our children might enjoy watching. It is a good family film. Definitely something the whole family can sit and watch together. We also bought it because we are "slowly" buying Jim Henson movies and building a collection.

Love the movie, I use to watch every christmas when I was a kid and want to share it with my children

Actually, I bought 2 of this dvd. My 2 sons are 30 and 27 and they loved emmet otter's jug-band christmas when ther were little. I bought them both one for christmas. It will definately bring back memories. I am so glad that I found them. My younger son has been looking for this dvd for over 5 years. thanks so much. Mother and grandmother

For years as a child we would watch this HBO special only to be heartbroken when it stopped running. The day it was out on DVD, every member of my family went out and got a copy (and there are 9 of us). The story is a touching one of self-sacrifice and the power of family and though the special effects and puppetry aren't the greatest, it takes us all back to a simplier time of our youth and better more uplifting stories. Do yourself and your kids a favor, get it and enjoy it as a family. It will put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.

I really loved this movie as a child and thought it was very to see it released on dvd. I believe this is a very unique movie and storyline unlike a lot of others I also love the characters and I hope im not alone in believing all of this. I would very highly recomend this movie.The only problem it is a little out dated but its still tons of fun.

I had been looking for this movie for the longest time because it was a favorite of mine from my childhood. I bought it for my kids to enjoy and they love it just as much as I did. It came to me in perfect condition and we watched it the same day that we got it in the mail and we havent stopped watching it since even though it is a christmas movie.

This movie was extremely hard to find, I've done extensive local searching finding out the easiest place to find was e-bay. I've looked for this for years, only to find out that it was not released until 2005. This dvd is of course the first muppet type movie from Jim Henson's studios and quite state of the art. Remote control was not widely used at the time of this movie but Jim Henson's vision utilized it. On the surface it may seem rough by today's standards but genius for it's time. I will treasure my movie and watch it with my family until life leaves me. Positive images, heartfelt struggle, family. If you care than this movie will live with you forever too.

WE've been watching this since the early 80's with our children. I am thrilled to find it on DVD!!! There's not much, if anything to dislike here. Where the story is a classic, the puppetry is amazing & so much fun to watch. Accenuates family closeness & love.

I loved this movie when i was growing up and I bought it so my grandkids could watch it. In this version it cut out alot of the movie and therefore I didnt like that, but as far as the movie goes its a wonderful movie.

This is a cute little story about how mother and son try to get the other a Christmas gift. This is a cute little story for the family.

I remembered watching this movie as a child when it was only aired on HBO. The movie is a classic example of Jim Henson's work and is timeless. If you get the chance to see it DO SO!!!!

For some families, it was "A Christmas Story", but for mine it was Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. This is a fantastic holiday movie that I grew up with and will now pass that holiday tradition with my own daughter. The story never gets old and lasts the ages. This is one of Jim Henson's greatest works.

Emmet Otter is as heart warming as ever. If you have not seen this Jim Henson holiday classic in a while, do so. Emmet Otter has all of the charm and signature puppetry for which the Muppets creator is known. Bravo!

This is a wonderful family show that shows what Christmas is all about. The Henson people have crafted a winner full of fun and good music. A must have for both Muppet collectors and Christmas special lovers.

The video is great and came with bonus features I was'nt expecting. The picture and sound quality were great also. Definately a great buy for someone wanting good family entertainment.

This is a great movie for kids learning about the responsibilities of life when you grow up. Working hard and sacrificing has it's rewards. Not too mention the great spirit of Christmas can be shared at any age! This a a timeless classic that is a must-see "holiday speical" for every kid working for an allowance. Get the popcorn out, turn off the phone and have the whole family sit down for this one!

This was my favorite Christmas movie when I was a little girl, and when I found out it was finally out on DVD I knew Ebay would have it. It is a a great family movie and it has a great value to learn that no matter what some has or doesn't't have family and friends or the real Christmas gift..

I love this movie because I remember it from my younger years and thought it was so cute! Last year I borrowed it from a friend of mine and my son at the time just loved it! I knew I would have to get it for our collection.

One of my all time Christmas favorites. The outtakes are hilarious! I did not give this the excellent rating because it's the edited for TV version and not the complete original HBO version.

This show first aired when my daughter was small and we always watched it at Christmas. So when we saw the DVD, it was a must have.
