1996 Best score! Find out why Rachel Portman finally got noticed as one of the great composers of our time. A real classical feel to this disc.

Some years ago my daughter and I read Jane Austen's "Emma" together, then fell in love with the movie which we often watch together. I wanted the soundtrack to play at her wedding reception which is in two weeks. When the cd came, I listened to it and loved every bit of it. At the time I happened to be very stressed out with a myriad of frustrations. The cd calmed and relaxed me and gave me the perfect escape. My daughter is going to be so happy to hear this at her reception!

I love this soundtrack and I often play it at home when I am relaxing and reading. I highly recommend this soundtrack and Rachel Portman is a wonderful composer.

Rachel Portman writes totally BEAUTIFUL music for movie soundtracks.I recently
purchased the CD --Cider House Rules--, also written by Ms. Portman. After
listening to it many times, I wanted to buy another movie score by this very
gifted lady. I chose Emma, and it is lovely too. The music is soft,
flowing and descriptive. Many soundtracks have "hurry music" and "scary
music" when the villain appears. There is none of that on either of these
CD's. I give this CD an EXCELLENT rating.

Wonderful, relaxing music. Could listen to it all day!!!

I love the film "Emma" so I wanted to own the soundtrack as well. It reminds me of my favorite parts of the film and I find the music very soothing. I do a lot of hand sewing, so it helps keep me focused on my task. The tracks aren't very long, but they all do tie together to make one very nice CD. I wish the CD had come with the original artwork, though...but no matter, I still enjoy this CD!

I loved the movie "Emma", and the soundtrack is well done. Classical music with a traditional Christmas song describe the CD.
