Emergency Medicine Manual by David M. Cline, Ma O. John, O. John Ma (2003, Paperback, Subsequent Edition)

I like this book because it allows you a quick reference for small pieces of information you may forget over the years. As a paramedic, I tend to see most types of patients, but there is always one or two types of problems that just aren't that common and you want to stay sharp and aware when the problems present themselves.

I am currently in my last didactic quarter of PA school before rotations and I am currently being taught by ER physicians who highly recommended this book. In reviewing the book for myself, I think this is one of my best purchases so far and will come in quite handy for my ER rotation. The material focuses on what you need to know and is a good summary of disease process and treatment. It is not too lengthy and is an easy read in case you need to refresh your memory on something quickly. The only problem is that this book was last updated in 2004 and does not include a few of the ACLS changes that were made in 2005. Besides that, I highly recommend this book.

it a good quick read on a certain subject you may need at the time, but just to read straight through seems a little scattered. Is set up nice to give you signs and symptoms and treatment.

Great book. Questions are a bit wordy but I love the way the topics are divided. I don't think it's necessary to have every vital sign for every question. They set questions up as case studies. The book was in great condition. This was a required book for one of my physician assistant courses.
