The hardbound copy of Simon Schama's book on seventeeenth century Dutch culture and life that I bought oneBay was in excellent condition, and purchased at a moderate price.
What can one say about Schama's book? The book is superb, probably, one of the fmest contributions to the history of this exciting period. Schama's works are classics by which other historians are judged. The Embarrassment of Riches is no exception. It is a great read.
