The Emancipation Of Mimi: Platinum Deluxe Edition [Limited] [CD & DVD] by Mariah Carey (CD, Nov-2005, MonarC/Island)

What I like most about this CD/DVD is the music, it's great! The CD & DVD have great quality sound/video. The cd booklet has great grafics! The booklet even lists the words to each song, including the bonus tracks, which some cds don't list the lyrics for. I purchased this CD/DVD after hearing the following songs on the radio from this album: "it's like that", "we belong together", "shake it off", "say somethin'", "fly like a bird", "don't forget about us", and "we belong together [Remix]". I started to realize that this album collection has to be good if it has at least 7 good songs (that I mentioned above). The downside to this collection is: It could have been excellent had it not been for the minimum profanity on it, which is common in r&b music these days. To me, that language takes away from the pureness of the r&b music. At least Mariah Carey keeps it to a minimum. So 4 (out of 5) stars is a fair rating in my book.

Basically to sum it up, Mariah's new CD is HOTT. She has definetly proven that she is the queen of pop and R&B. This album has a taste of pop with the smooth tasteful grooves of R&B, but still with a hint of hip-hop. She puts her voice up for ears in a few tracks on this album also. The DVD is spectacular with her hot 4 videos of the top hits for the record. There are bonus tracks includ that weren on the original released album a few years ago. They are just as hot as the rest of the album, if not then hotter. The remixes can realy get you fired up. Dont let the misleading rumors of the "Glitter" Soundtrack fool you. With that said, dont be afraid to pick this CD up as soon as you get a chance because you will not be disappointed especially with it being Platinum Deluxe.
