The Emancipation of Mimi by Mariah Carey (CD, Apr-2005, MonarC/Island)

Mariah's vocals are as beautiful as her thighs. The beats are, as the kids say, PHAT (if you never get a chance to hear the vinyl double LP, you are really missing out on some good sounds). But the album is missing something. Like so much "R&B" music, these days (not to be confused with "Rhythm & Blues"--the logic behind such a differentiation is beyond me), it is less "dancy" and more "Hip-Hoppy"--unless "dancing" to you is "grinding-with-your-partner-on-the-dance-floor-to-slow-beats".
