Elvis Presley - The Signature Collection (DVD, 2004, 6-Disc Set)

I bought this DVD collection for my mom for her birthday. She simply LOVES Elvis.
I like the fact that all his *signature* movies are in this collection. You dont have to go out and buy each one separatly.

6 great old Elvis movies from the 50ties and 60ties. These movies are interesting for Elvis-a-holics and vintage-movie-fans, and (of course!) the storys and dialoges seem a little cheesy in our days, but what the heck. Everything is too much fun and gave me hours of careless DVD viewing.
The only (very cheap!!!) thing on this item is the packing of the DVDs. 4 of the movies are packed in standard dvd boxes, 2 of the movies are packed in digipak boxes. The digipak boxes are too big to fit the mainbox, which makes the whole box set look very cheap. That's why I give this DVD Box Set only 4 stars instead of 5. Cheerio, Dan.

This was received promptly and in good condition. This was bought as a present and will make a wonderful gift.

Well what can I say some of these old Elvis movies are pretty good but truth be known after watching forgot just how cheesy some of these were. Definitively understand why Elvis was fighting for better roles in movies truth be known out side of his acting the others in most of these are about as bad as they come as far as acting skills like watching a high school play.But hey its Elvis and American Icon definitely worth the time.

The movies of Elvis Presley have always been a great source of family entertainment that can appeal to people of all ages. What sets his films apart from that of other stars from that same era is that they were designed to be fun for everybody to enjoy. In 2004, Warner Home Video released a DVD boxed set of 6 of his films together, called "The Signature Collection". The 6 films were originally released to movie theaters from 1957 to 1968. The titles included represent a unique variety of movie-making. Films in this set are; "Jailhouse Rock", considered by many people to be the qunitessential Elvis movie, with Presley as Vince Everett, a former convict turned singer who becomes a big star. "It Happened At The World's Fair" features Elvis as Mike Edwards, an out-of-work pilot who is forced to look after an abandoned girl at the Seattle World's Fair. "Viva Las Vegas" stars Elvis with co-star Ann-Margaret in a tale of songs, gambling and high stakes racing set in the Nevada tourist town. "Harum Scarum", with Elvis as American movie star Johnny Tyrone who is abducted by a ruthless crime lord in the middle East. "Spinout" stars Elvis as Mike McCoy, the leader of a swinging rhythm combo who is being pursued by 3 lovely ladies all trying to vie for his attention. "Speedway", with Elvis co-starring with Nancy Sinatra in a story of big wins on the racing circuit, only to having to owe it to Uncle Sam. The films of Elvis Presley are a real treat for everyone; and "The Signature Collection" presents 6 reasons why this set is a lot of fun.

I love Elvis movies and was really excited about buying this package...

However... if you blink between Viva Las Vegas, Speedway & Spin Out you won't know which movie you're watching unless you remember which female lead is in which movie... they're so much alike that i suspect it's the same exact script with about a couple of changes ...

I love Jailhouse Rock....

I would recommend buying the movies individually....

My dauhghter is a huge Elvis fan, so the box set made a perfect Christmas gift. The price was great and product was exactly as advertised. The collection was a great mix of Elvis' many movies, including 2 classics: Jailhouse Rock & Viva Las Vegas. Some of the other movies included some of Elvis' lesser known movies which are not shown on TV.

I am trying to replace my VHS tapes with DVD's. I love this older movie and it updates my collection.

DVD's were new as described and service was fast. Will bid on items from them again. All DVD's were in their original packaging and very timely. I don't know why I have to describe this review in "at least" 100 characters when a couple of sentences will do!

The collection itself is wonderful. I love the Elvis Presley movies and this definately represents some of his best. The quality of the product is excellent and it arrived timely and in perfect shape.
